Big 12 QB Rankings and games to watch

I'm not even that offended by where Dekkers is. Do I think he's better than that, probably. The fact Martinez is fourth is hilarious. The biggest issue I have is Shapen is too low imo. He may not be as good as I think he could be, but from what we saw and have heard, I would put him third or fourth.

I don't mind them putting Hunter last, but I think Hunter will. He should have that posted in his locker room.

My bold prediction is that at the end of the year Hunter will be top 4 on that list.

It's pretty crazy, wasn't Skyler Thompson a better QB, but somehow this guy is going to be the difference?
K-State's offense is going to look a lot like the Collin Klein years. That works to Adrian Martinez's strengths as a runner. Him and Deuce will make for a a dynamic QB option game. And the kicker in this, is Collin Klein is now the OC for KSU.

Yep, this blurb from their national ranking make it clear that this is more about Dekkers being an unknown than being the worst of the projected starter.

115) Hunter Dekkers | Iowa State

For the first time in what feels like a decade, Iowa State starts a season without Brock Purdy as their starting QB. After two years of learning behind Purdy, Hunter Dekkers enters the lineup as the starter in Ames in 2022. The 13th-ranked dual-threat quarterback from his class, Dekkers has a high pedigree and strong recruiting profile to live up to as well as high expectations for the QB position after Purdy rewrote the Iowa State record book during his tenure with the program.

A solid passer, Dekkers has been able to show more with his legs in his brief time in the lineup for the Cyclones. Still, he’s got a big arm with the talent to push the ball downfield. He just hasn’t been able to showcase it due to the situations he’s been put in. Much like a lot of the quarterbacks down this far in the rankings, Dekkers will have a lot to prove and his place in our starting quarterback rankings is more indicative of that unproven nature and the nature of the fact that there are a plethora of proven quarterbacks returning to college football this fall.

Is Adrian Martinez a runner? Seems like he throws a ton of picks for being a running QB.
