Has anyone ever went up to them? I've seen drag racing on TV a little bit and think it would be quite the spectacle in person. I would think one day would satisfy my yen to see it.
Any tips at where you want to get seats at. I'm just assuming earplugs are highly recommended. I think it will be a good event to see. Throw me out all the advice you got CF.
I’ve been going to BIR for over a decade. I am a so called “zoo person” which is the ultimate experience. This could get long so feel free to pm me. I’ve been to other tracks as well so if you have never experienced a nitro burning dragster or funny car, it’s no so much the sounds of 11,000 hp per car, it violent and rattles your body. Something you have to experience to understand. I actually live in Humboldt and we have a great track but it’s nothing compared to the pros.
There is general admission seating, reserved seating, zoo side there is general which you can bring a cooler and an area to watch from a 4 wheeler around the 1000 ft mark.
Go and camp, first come first serve so I’m usually there Wednesday or Thursday AM. We make it an event so smoking food, playing bags, just driving around the zoo is a blast.
Every ticket is a pit pass so watch them tear the engine and clutch apart after every run. Then start the car and set the clutch just feet from where you are standing. Meet any driver from Leah Pruett, Ron Capps, to John Force. It’s not hard to meet any driver, get a pic, and an autograph. Many of the drivers will enter the zoo as well in the evening which is really cool on their part.
