Twelve conference games per week. Schools in every time zone. The only conference with schools in Texas, California, and Florida. If we get poached, we still have a ton of schools.

Our division sucks in that scenario. No good away games at all.

College sports are moving to super conferences. Like it or not. I hate it but it is what it is. This would be a super conference 3rd to the B1G and SEC but better 3rd than not in the race.

WSU is proposing an outright merger plus because it's their only hope.
“And let’s bring SMU along with us! That’ll be just the thing to give this conference pizazz!”

Also the idea of playing those five teams every year, with a rotation of the other 18 that ensures a kid playing for four full seasons will not play against at least two teams in your own conference (playing 4 out-of-division games every season only gets you through 16 of the other 18 teams in four years), is not ideal, to put it lightly.

I used to think this mega conference crap was pie in the sky. Then we float this "power and light district" in the parking lot as feasible. I don't know. Just when the crowd says go one way, reality sets in. Like the stock market and common sense. We will see. In the end, the top 10% of power schools will control how this goes. Sad but true for the ISU fan who loads the car six times a year to tailgate.

But why, why add the teams that dont add value, and also elevate more G5 just to fill spots?

You take the top teams that fit and that add value/stability and wait for the ACC to implode to take the next several teams for our eastern flank.

Still lots of targets higher in value than SMU, Oregon State, and Washington State out there in the future. There’s absolutely no need to panic your way into a 24-team conference right now, with these schools.

Unless you’re Washington State and you can read the news, too, and you’re desperate to throw something out there that would conceivably save your own skin.

I'd be fine adding all the PAC 12 teams, no SMU or SDSU. I no longer care how big the "pie" is or how big our "piece" is. Playing some different teams sounds fun and if it keeps us playing big time college football, I'm all for it.

Agreed. I didn’t see the SMU add at first. No thanks. My ideal super conference would be to poach Oregon, Washington, Stanford, and the Arizona schools (only for market). And then poach Clemson, Miami, and Florida state from the ACC. With the 12 current and future Big 12 that would be a 20 team conference that would be very strong and on par with the B1G and close to the SEC. Swap the Arizona schools and Stanford with any combo of Cal, Utah, Colorado

Apparently I didn’t see the San Diego state add as well. Definite no to them.

I mean we have to be realistic.
First, we dont want, Cal, probably not Stanford, and not OSU nor WSU.

We take ASU, UA, CO, Utah, Hope for Wash and Oregon.

Wait for ACC to be blown up but the schools you mention are going to be gone to the SEC

We take Pitt, Louisville, and if avail Miami, NCSt, GaTch, Duke. Although a couple of those might be gone to others.

Assume all the rest are taken by SEC or B1G except BC, Syracuse, Wake, which will be left out.

If we are really being realistic, we should just be happy with whatever leftovers the B1G and SEC leaves us.

Espn will make sure Clemson, FSU, and Miami end up in the SEC

No reason to promote anymore teams at this time( SDSU, SMU) you take the PAC 12 teams we don’t really want (Cal, WSU, OSU) only if it a pre-requisite to get the ones we really want.

I want them all. Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State. Bring 'em all. Give me anyone in the ACC that wants to joint up too. 24-30 teams. Let's do it.

Except Duke. **** Duke.
