Planning on making it to Ames for one game this year. Curious as to which game others would aim for. Taking into account weather, kick time, ticket availability, and opponent.

I’d say KState for weather and opponent. Most likely, great weather, and a winnable, but important game.

Depends on your preference for “weather”. Baylor fits one definition, while OU likely fits my definition of “perfect football weather”.

Plus, it’s Halloween weekend, so there’s that atmosphere.

And a Cyclone win would add to CMC’s growing resume of “Legend”.

Sorta depends what you want to see. Both Baylor and OU should be hard fought games with certainly no guarantee of a win (at least this time of year), but the weather should be great for both. K State is a more expected win with good weather too. The OU game has the extra oomph for obvious reasons so tickets will also be hardest to come by (most expensive) accordingly.

WVU for homecoming would be fun, but being in November weather is more likely to have a chill in the air.

And of course, senior day (Tech on Nov 19th) will likely be a cold one, but an opportunity to cheer on the seniors one last time in Trice.

Guess I think I could come up with an argument for all of them. But, all should be a good time with 60k+ fellow Cyclone fans cheering on the home team!

I'd go to KState. I think we're probably pretty similar teams this year so close to a coin flip.

I like going early in the season, im not built for November games outside.

I love late October/early November game weather. Colder and a lot of the old diehards are out there tailgating. Reminds me of the old days when no one came. The real ones know what I’m talking about…

I like the games early in the schedule. The excitement for game day and the tailgating are awesome.

Change “old” to “real” and I’d agree with you.

Love me some October Games-
Slight crisp in the air in the mornings,
Golden Corn fields being harvested the drive to Ames.
Fall colors starting to emerge on Campus-
No one is worried about overheating and sunburns
Jeans and a Hoody and you are set!

Second option-
First Week of Nov-
Coffee with Baileys
Peppermint Schnapps in some Cappuccino/Hot Choc
Hot bowls of Chili taste Great
Stocking Hat, to keep the chill off your ears
Diehards love this game!
Yep, that's a fun one too.........

I hear that. There’s just something different about those cold ass November games and the common brotherhood among those out there in the lots.

COULD be the last time OU is in Ames IF they decide to buy out of the contract say a year early.

Coffee with Iowish Cream!

KSU and OU will be the best weather games most likely.

Can't believe we have a bye week on Oct 22..... that is the best weather of the entire year in Iowa IMO. Usually the leaves in Ames are at peak around Oct 20th give or take.
