Brad Dudek RIP

Former Iowa State player Brad Dudek (1983-85) passed away today. He leaves behind a wife and two kids.

So sad, as he is a peer - I was an undergrad at ISU those same years. We were so excited to get a 7-footer when he committed to Iowa State, but I don't remember that he ever got serious minutes.

Brad broke his leg his freshman year. It never healed quite right and he wound up spending most of his career on the bench.

Wasn’t he in a car accident? He was very tall but seemed slight in his build. Not sure if broken bones heal any differently for the really tall. RIP big guy.

I remember he was from MN. Just Googled him. Out of Duluth and battled lung cancer last two years.

Could've grown up in a house with radon, who knows? I've known a couple people who died of lung cancer the last few years who were never smokers.
