Thanks so much to @CYdTracked for this thread! Here is how he put it:

What is the best and worst car you have every owned? I figure most of us probably have a favorite car we had and probably 1 they wish they never bought too.

My worst car that I ever personally bought was a teal green 1999 Plymouth Neon. The head gasket needed replaced about 1 year after I got it (which apparently happened on about 75% of them).

Thought for sure this was a Dead Milkmen thread‍♂️
My freshman year roommate was BIG into the Milkmen. Also the Ramones, DRI, Metallica, and a bunch of other weird stuff I had never been exposed to. This was pre-Black album and GHWB was president, so Metallica was still considered dark and subversive.

As far as cars- worst was a 1984 Ford Tempo that was my college car for driving back and forth to home. Just a piece of junk. Had to carry gallons of water around because it would overheat and blow the radiator as the cooling fan didn't work.

Best car... 2005 Jaguar XK8 convertible. Cardinal red and ISU plates of course. It's not the most comfortable or perfect vehicle, but it's just fun. Drove it to work today.

...hey guess who's gonna be there...Crystal Sh*t, they do a Doors show...

I had a 1983 S10 Blazer with manual transmission that I was absolutely devoted to. I spent hours cleaning it every week. It's the only car I've ever owned that I changed the oil myself and generally did all the PM for. It was immaculate and in outstanding shape. I truly loved it. And it was SO FUN to drive... and then the head gasket...

Don't really have a worst car...that old '80 Citation in high school was a POS but it always ran...

To clarify this is a car you actually owned yourself not one your parents technically owned that you may have drove in HS or college as my worst car easily would qualify under that...

My favorite car was a 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo SS. Black with silver trim on the bottom. Bought it knowing it was probably going to be my last "fun car" before I had kids and it was as I traded it in late 2014 for a Traverse after we had our 1st kid. I custom ordered it from the dealer as I only wanted certain things on it that none on the lot had and it was actually the last Monte Carlo they ever ordered as Chevy discontinued the Monte that same year.

Least favorite car and it's not that I didn't enjoy driving it I just got tired of having to dump money into repairs in it was a 2 door 1999 Grand Am. Was a fun sporty car and my Aunt had previously owned it and I got it with about 60k miles on it probably. She takes good care of her cars but this one I had to replace the intake manifold twice on 2 years apart and seemed like everything just wanted to go out on it between 80-100k like the power steering and water pumps and various other part that usually had to drop a fair amount on to replace.

Worst car ever as definitely a 1988 Chevy Corsica. It was terrible in all the ways 80s US FWD cars were. Crappy handling, no power, terrible engine design, etc.

Best car is tougher. A tie between my 2003 Focus SVT and my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6. Both cars had great suspensions, 6 speed manuals, hopped up engines and were super fun to drive.

The car I had the most love/hate for me was my 1972 corvette. I was always fixing it (the hate portion) but firing it up and driving it in the spring is the part I miss the most about it.

Nice. I'm not a car guy but when both my daughters are out of college and officially off the payroll my plan is to find a 1979 Blazer K5 that I can get fixed up right and have as my daily driver.

As you'd expect, wifey is thrilled.

Worst car was my first, a '76 Chevy Nova. Had a 262 in it and couldn't get out of its own way. Tried to see how fast we could get it going and it shut off at about 80. It died in an unfortunate cigarette flipped out the window accident that fully burned it up (determined by the fire department to probably be electrical lol).

Best car is probably my current one, but funnest car was my '77 Caprice Classic (had the bent back window). It was set up similar to the cop cars then, so it hauled ass (could smoke the tires shifting into 2nd gear if you were stepping on it). Almost set the land speed record between Atlantic and Council Bluffs, but a state trooper delayed us. Luckily we had slowed down and only got an 87 in a 65.

Worst car: 2009 VW Passat - During my brief ownership: The 2.0 engine sludged over and needed to be totally replaced. ( This is a very common problem, and I was part of the class action suit against Audi).

Best car: 2007 Chrysler Town & Country: This has been the easiest vehicle for me to maintain and is decent in gas mileage for the size. I can get a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back, so its utility is outstanding.

My first car was a 1987 Ford Escort 4 door hatchback. Definitely the worst car I've ever owned. Best car is the one I currently drive right now, a 2017 GMC Terrain. I have long legs and once I switched to SUVs, it was game over for cars.

You are killing me, man. I have been begging Janny to let me get a mid-70s era Nova for years.

My first and worst car was a 98 Plymouth Breeze (I named her Summer). She leaked oil enough that I never got an oil change, just added more every so often. About a year after getting it, the brakes completely gave out. That was fun.

74 Dodge Charger metallic olive green with the white top and a 318 engine, kept that car for a long time then the rust got bad couldn't afford to restore it had to sell it for something practical.

Haven't had a worst car, had a Ford Galaxy burn up on me but that was ok the insurance was more than I paid for it.

Currently drive a Chevy Cruze mainly it's ok, I don't like it much but I've put over 200,000 on it with out too many repairs so it's fine.

I do like my 2013 F150 work truck roomy cab, good ride, hauls everything I need with ease. Only use it for work so hopefully it will last a long time.

I can't say I've had a bad car. My first car was a 93 ford probe in light blue, manual. That was a good car to have and fun to drive at the time. Next car after that was a 96 Avalon, good car and was the high end model with climate control and leather seats. This got me through the rest of high school and college. When I graduated college, I sold the Avalon and bought a brand new 2011 Scion TC. I had that car until last Friday when I sold it.

Out of all of those, the Ford Probe was probably the "worst" one, as it lacked a lot of amenities that the Avalon had. The Scion was probably the best, only because I got that brand new.

Best - 89 mustang GT see profile pic.

Got it while I was in the Navy from a guy that was getting out, getting married, and needed the money. Tons of fun. Love that car. Was a 5 speed 5.0 and it could handle. Modded it up which upped the horsepower and she would move. Presently in boxes in my garage waiting on me to rebuild her (long story, wife kids, etc.) Some day though…..

Worst would have to be the car I had before the Mustang…..90 Chevy beretta.

Was fairly solid and reliable mechanically, everything else was a POS on it. Typical 90’s FWD Chevy car.

My first car was an 88 Corsica. No radio. Passenger side door didn't open from the outside. It was a mess, but I was just happy to have a car at that time.

I also had two Neons, so I feel you @Angie.

I don't think I've had my best car yet.
