Next up, Iowa's attempt to trademark the color black.
I assume it just prevents schools from referring to themselves as The such and such university in print or other marketing materials.
Anyone else who didn't possess huge amounts of power and influence would have been laughed out of the trademark office.
Just another reason to hate that school.

Mostly I think I'd hate being a lawyer...but when I see something like this it seems like my dream job to try to beat them down in court.
The idea of wearing gear that says "THE" on it is among the most stupid things I've ever seen.
