I know this is brought up every year, but if there was ever going to be a year where the B12 gets 8 teams in the tournament....

Kansas and Baylor are about as surefire tournament teams as it's likely to get.

Kansas State doesn't look like a tournament team at the moment, but there are plenty of players left in the portal, not too late for them to put together a roster.

That means if the B12 gets its usual 7 allotments then 7 teams will be fighting for 5 spots.

UT and TCU are returning the majority of their contributors from tournament teams.

ISU and TTU have top 10 transfer classes.

OSU probably would have been the 7th B12 team in the tournament last year if they were eligible and OU just missed out. Both have kept their core and added good pieces.

WVU is the most shaky but they're adding talent and Huggy's seat is warming up. They'll bring it.

Logic says 2 of these teams won't make the tournament, but in any other league I'd be optimistic for WVU and idk who else would fall short. This league man....

Almost June. KState has 7 scholarship players on the roster. Tang sure isn't having an offseason like TJ did last spring.
I would have been easy to convince on his hiring had we hired him last year, so I'm by no means writing him off. But I do wonder how all those Texas connections actually matter when you're trying to bring kids to Manhattan, KS. We saw it with Prohm. Would be nice to have a bottom feeder or two in the league next year.

Speaking of leagues, the Big 10 is going to be as weak as I can remember - I don't even know who the top contenders are. Probably Michigan and Purdue but it would be due entirely to Dickinson and Edey, I don't think there's much else known on either roster. MSU is not looking overly promising, Illinois lost a ton but have added Shannon and some good freshmen, OSU lost a ton, WI could be flat out bad (though that was thought of them last year). Going to be an interesting year.

Doesn't really move the needle on Torvik

Horrific defensive metrics and a box score +/- that doesn't match his output.

West Virginia is massively overrated on Torrvik. Seems to be a bit of a glitch in Bart's algorithm on a few of their players.

I forsee Oklahoma being somewhat similar to last year. I'd probably peg them 8th in a preseason poll as it stands now. They did finish 29th/30th analytically last year despite missing the tournament - though that was a little controversial.

I don’t take torvik stuff as gospel this time of year. Well actually ever but especially this time of year.

Tech is bringing in 5 star guard Elijah Fisher. Huge get for them!

Elijah Fisher-6’7 Fr SF-40th-C/51st/31st/NR

Iowa State has a player transferring.

Tyrese Hunter-6’0 Fr PG-Transferring after the 2nd semester of the 2021-22 school year , 11.0 ppg/4.9 apg/3.5 rpg/2.0 spg

Baylor has a player declaring for the NBA draft.

Matthew Mayer-6’9 Sr SF-Declared for the NBA draft , Projected to stay in the draft , 9.8 ppg/5.0 rpg/1.2 spg/1.0 apg

Big blow for Scott Drew

This has to sting for KSU. After choosing Tang over Underwood, now Underwood has more B12 players than they do on his roster.

In all my time doing these threads, I've never seen a team with 7 scholarship players going into June. I have no idea what the Kansas State staff is doing.
