I have a Caseys gift card here. Unsure if there is anything in it and forgot I had it. I will offer that up.
I pay taxes, buy licensed apparel, tickets, concessions, parking, etc.
Zero chance I’d contribute to buy a player. I’ll get flamed for this but don’t care—players get scholarships, training, travel, food, etc. NIL is a crappier version of pro sports and will ruin what made college sports different and special. And for the crowd who says the players deserve to make what they can—I agree. Go get a job, go pro, sell cars, pan handle, do what we common folk do to make money. But I’ll never buy that the benefits they get aren’t worth their cost

I get what you are saying, but what I bolded in your post will dry up if we aren't competitive at all. That is reality.
This whole situation stinks, but I'll donate. I look at it this way... I'd rather my donated money directly help us win than upgrading the toilets in Hilton.
They were never allowed to have jobs as an athlete per the NCAA.
Very eager to watch this turn into the latest argument over "how loyal a Cyclone fan are you?" We don't do that enough, so this'll be good and healthy.
I get that. We all make choices. Maybe they can’t work if getting a basketball scholly, but they get other benefits the other students didn’t get. Look, if NIL is here to stay and college sports becomes what this makes it….that’s fine. I believe it will fundamentally change things and could kill the golden goose. Ok. I won’t begrudge them taking money. But I won’t contribute a single cent to it either.

Zero dollars and zero cents. This isn’t NIL, this is just paying players, which is fine I just don’t think fans should shoulder that burden anymore than they already do.
I’m not giving my money to a 17 year old kid lol. This is all ridiculous. If we’re gonna pay the kids, let’s just get rid of the amateurism lie and actually pay them as employees.

Not a single cent goes to the athletes. You don’t have to like it but this is for the kids that have a special ability, put in time and effort to entertain us. But but scholarship and free food blah blah blah.
Guessing Curt. He has always been vocal in his support of this.
