***Official 2022 Weather Thread***

It's on Highway 56 between Adams and Le Roy. Just north of the Stacyville/McIntire/Meyer area.

There are no businesses there anymore. When I was a kid there was still a bar (The Chief Taopi) and (allegedly) Minnesota's smallest post office.
USPS closed in 2011 I believe.

Anyway... here's the aftermath of Taopi (Tay-oh-pee) with drone footage. So sad. Looks like about every property was impacted. Lots of people coming out to support and clean up though.

Was a crazy night. I was on-air with coverage for almost six hours straight. I'm still feeling tired after that.

Is that town in Mower county?

Is this the shittiest spring weather you can remember? It's supposed to warm up later this week, but rain 2-3 days in a row along with it. It's to the point where I was happy yesterday just because the sun was actually out, even though it was like 35 degrees.

No. This cold, damp crap was what I remember when I was younger. Dad always worried about getting in the field......4" ground temp....how early he could plant in April......worried about frost and or ponds that would drown the seeds when he could.

It’s been pretty bad. The start of spring of 2018 was pretty awful, then I remember toward the end of April it just doing a 180 and being pretty much summer after that.

It's awful but I remember 3 or 4 years ago I don't think it got above 60 until May.

Edit..must have been 2018 if other people remember it also.

Recency bias really screws with my memories, but I'd say that though we always have some bad weather in April, I don't recall having *all* bad weather in April. The cold, the endless wind, a bit of snow, the lack of sunshine. I just don't remember it being this consistently poor.

I checked my weather app for the week and think that things are looking up as 70s are coming...then I look closer and there's a few hours of upper 60s and calm on Thursday, followed by - yes, 70s - but rain/storms and wind most of the weekend. Eff that.

The last several springs have been lousy. I’m turkey hunting in southern Iowa. Snow Sunday and today a wind chill of 18. Most winter days I don’t pheasant hunt with those temperatures. Ridiculous.
