Breece Hall on Yahoo Sports

How did he only secure his status as a TOP 2 back? From what I saw his combine numbers were near perfect and his score was up there with the top backs in the last decade. Silly take. Just say he's #1.

If I'm drafting, I'd pick Breece 10 times out of 10, but Walker is a damn good back too, and they are discussing fantasy football, so it does matter where they go. If someone picks him up as the heir apparent to an established #1 back, he would have less fantasy value than if he is brought in to be the #1 immediately.

People love that Michigan State guy, Kenneth Walker.

There were some stories that the combine #s show walker as the clear cut #1 rb and the only position where there is a far and away #1.

I don’t understand them, but they are there.

I look at the combine #s and see a slight edge for Breece. I look at the production on the field and see one elite season vs 2.5 elite seasons.

Speaking of fantasy, Tyrese Haliburton has become one of the best fantasy basketball players lately.

I mean he ran a 4.38 and had better stats than Breece last year.

Think Breece is the better NFL prospect (and he proved it for 2 years vs 1 for Walker)... but its not out of line to say these two are pretty similar prospects and probably get picked relatively interchangeably.

To me, it doesn't mean much who get's called first. I am way more worried about Breece finding a team with a solid OL and not ending up in a situation like David where his line's favorite go-to move is a "look out" block.

I thought better stats too until I dug a little deeper on all stats. It’s splitting hairs between the two. The previous season isn’t really splitting hairs, Breece had best #s as a sophomore.

I’m fine calling them both great or elite, the articles claiming walker is the #1 back by far are just wrong.

You’d think an NFL team would accidentally have a good offense at least once in the course of 35 years.

The one common knock on Breece in most of the draft analysis that I have seen is the mileage that he already has. In his 3 years at ISU he wracked up 800 touches, versus Walker's 500 touches over the same time period (2 years at Wake and one at MSU). Something that should play into Breece's favor though is that he is the younger of the two. Breece turns 21 in May, Walker will be 22 in Oct.

I think they are 1A/1B and it really comes down to preference.

I could look at it like...why didn't Wake feel they needed to get the older Walker the ball more.

Even with the 800 touches at ISU there were games all our fans just wanted to give him the **** ball.

Campbell knew Breece was a dawg the minute he got here and started getting him carries. Walker had to transfer from another school (not sure the reason, but Im assuming playing time). Bias aside Ill take the guy that’s been an alpha from day one even if he’s had more touches.

Or an idiot coach that doesn't know how to use him correctly. Once Nagy finally let DM get a full workload he was pretty solid at times last season.

Hall could really shine if he went to a playoff contender in need of a RB. The Bills at #25 would sure be a nice spot for him as would KC too but I doubt either take him that high with needs on defense to fill. New England, Arizona, and before they resigned Fournette I though Tampa Bay would have been a perfect fit. Some think he still might wind up with the Dolphins if he falls far enough or they make a trade up to get him, I see ESPN has him going to the Chiefs at #50 which I would be thrilled if that happens. I just hope he doesn't wind up on some crappy rebuilding team, he's the type of back with a solid QB and OL play could make a big impact right away.

One drawback on Breece is that he's not a great pass protector. ISU put Jirehl in on 3rd down even though Breece is an elite receiver. That says something and NFL teams know that he's likely not a 3 down back.

I think Hall was a good blocking back. I think the reason Campbell put Brock in on 3 down a lot was it was a clear passing down, and there was no reason to have your star running back taking snaps as a blocker.

Funny, since the articles I’ve seen reference Breece’s great hands, and say that gives him a big edge over Walker—who apparently is distinctly not a three down back.

If you aren’t having your back release often, no reason for them to take the punishment that a Dlinemen or LB will dish out. Get him a rest and avoid the hits.

I think Breece is RB1 but I have no issue with this. I think Kenneth Walker will be pretty special as well.

I think people believe that mainly because he didn’t catch passes out of the backfield in college. Apparently scouts that worked him out think he’ll be able to develop that in his game.
