Iowa State cracking down on sports clubs

Just an observation because I support all clubs with proper protocol and safety guidelines. How is cycling low risk when we hear about cyclist getting hit by cars not to mention crashes that occur at high speeds.

I don’t know that half of those sports are as dangerous as people lifting weights at one of the school’s various gyms.

The people in clubs tend to be at least somewhat familiar with a sport…wrestling is safe for actual wrestlers as an example.

As a climber I totally get climbing.

A lot of these clubs remind me of this guy

I'm into rock climbing and have backpacked across the sierra nevada mountains spending nights in sub freezing temps...but I won't ride a bike in my city even though I would really enjoy it.

So it's just a proposal at this point? Hopefully the voters/decisions makers (no idea how these things are decided upon) can have some common sense on this one.

That’s one that stuck out to me too. Nordic skiing is basically the skiing equivalent of cross country. It’s not really that high risk at all.

But what if you ski over thin ice & drop into water. Water & cold a double no, no.
