Iowa State's Maddie Frederick entered her name into the transfer portal on Monday afternoon, according to an announcement made over her social media accounts. The senior participated in ceremonies during the final home game of the regular season, but will exit Iowa State with one year of eligibil

We knew Fred wasn't coming back since she participated in senior day activities, but this is the first we've heard that she plans to continue playing.

I believe she has two seasons of eligibility (she was at ISU 4 years but one was a redshirt) and now she can potentially get two years of grad school for free.

Perfect scenario for Maddie...a degree from Iowa State (I assume) and then two years of playing somewhere else and getting a Masters. All paid for. I wish her luck, she was always a favorite and I hoped her career as a Cyclone featured more playing time.
