I've seen Iowa State fans use those same terms quite often in reference to Iowa fans

"Superbowl" I will allow from ISU basketball fans because it's just making fun of Iowa fans for starting that up when their football team had the losing streak against ISU.

If ISU winning football games vs a more consistent Iowa program was ever a "superbowl", it means any wins Iowa basketball has had in the past 12 years being the less successful program naturally must be of the same variety.

I don't think any ISU fans really believe "superbowl" talk. It's all making fun of Iowa football fans. I'll throw them a bone that under Mac we definitely played some of our best games against them. With CMC it's kind of the opposite though. We play much better against Oklahoma than we play against Iowa lately.

Why "hoks?" I've never understood it. "Haks" makes more sense to me because it's missing the W and is phonetically identical to "hacks." Kind of a spinoff of "IoLa"

TOE has also run its course.

"Hawkroaches" is fantastically accurate and creative, however.

There’s a reason this should be in the ISR forum.
Move it as needed. I posted here as I didn't intend to be just in state rival. I don't like when these phrases are used with any team or sport in our conference.

ToE probably has but it’s 3 characters. I want to use as minimal effort as possible if I must reference them.

I have an annoying buddy who is a big Hawk fan. Probably the most grating thing he says to me when talking Iowa/Iowa State is "IS-WHO?"

In regards to other schools/rivals, I roll my eyes every time I hear "EMAW!" or even worse "ROCK CHALK, KU" Had some annoying Kansas fans sitting behind me back on Feb 1 who started doing this near the end of the game in Hilton

"Hok" needs to go away, because it's stupid. They're all Hawkroaches.

Love Hawkroaches. It works phonetically too. Would be better for in person jabs than message board/twitter though.

This right here. The minimal effort to write ToE or Hok is the best reason to use these. And why give Iowa your full effort anyway, right?
