CHICAGO — I’ve got a few minutes before things will get too busy here at the United Center. Let’s have some fun. Here are my against the spread picks for the Sweet 16.

THURSDAY NIGHT

4 Arkansas vs. 1 Gonzaga, 6:09 p.m. on CBS —  This just seems like A LOT of points to give a good Arkansas team with a top 15 KenPom defense. The Zags struggled to put away Memphis in the Round of 32 and Eric Musselman can coach. Gonzaga wins but Arkansas keeps this respectable.

The pick: Arkansas (+10)

11 Michigan vs. 2 Villanova, 6:29 p.m on TBS — It just feels to me like Michigan is a destiny type of team this March. They are playing for their once embattled coach. The Wolverines convincingly took care of Colorado State and Tennessee last weekend. It’s hard to bet against Jay Wright though. Led by perhaps the best coach in all of college basketball, Nova has won seven games in a row and made quick work of another Big Ten team, Ohio State in the...

The over on our game is a bold move there, Cotton…..
For our 7 games against non-Big XII Power 6 teams in the non-con and NCAA Tourney, we're averaging an O/U of 123 -- (67 pts/game for and 56 pts/game against). Only the Xavier game, where Brockington went off for 30, and the Memphis game, where Gabe went off for 30, cleared that 135 mark.

Expecting the O/U to clear 12 points over our average takes a unique combination of testicular fortitude and borderline insanity.

Go get 'em CW! This is why we love ya.

No one giving the Peacocks a chance. Not saying they are going to for sure win, but I’m confident they’ll cover.

Miami AWFUL on D. Clones go off!

Just heard Ken Miller interview a reporter about Miami. He said something about not being surprised if Miami gets out-rebounded by 10! If that it true, that means that Conditt and Jones are doing their jobs. And I'm looking for Brockington, Jaz, and Enaruna to get some offensive rebound baskets too.

All of the analysis I’ve listened to so far has basically handed Miami the game already because they don’t think ISU can guard them.

Arkansas with the points is a great pick.

They only beat Memphis by 4 and were in a close game with a 16 seed for 30 minutes.

I love that all of the coverage is like if we were playing the 2 or 3 seed as an 11 seed as a gigantic underdog.

If ISU has a couple breaks in even two close Big 12 games, we're probably a 7 seed and few would think about having Miami as some easy pick to beat us.

Plus they are from the SEC. They have that going against them too.

I think CW is on to something about O/U. I can easily see Brock and Hunter scoring 20 points each.

133...

I think 67-66 is a very possible score. I can see why they set it there. It's about where I'd set it.

Would I feel comfortable picking over that? Not sure.

If ISU dominates the game I could see 60-52 type of win. If it's a close game I could see the over hitting.
