Should TJ be in the discussion for national coach of the year?

Yeah his team only finished 6th in the Big 12 (best league in the nation), but he has led the largest turnaround season in the history of college basketball, and has taken his team to the Sweet 16.

If we advance to the Elite 8, which now looks entirely within reach, I'd put my money on him being selected.

I think he is the clear winner. He won't but what he did this year is just amazing.

Iowa State has won the same number of NCAA Tourney games this year as they had total wins last year. Interesting to note that TJ was Assistant Coach on the last Cyclone Sweet Sixteen team.

Coach of the Millennium (and the last one too)!

No other coach has ever led such a turnaround.

I would have accepted the Tech coach, but Drew? GTFO. No way.

This. I figured it would be between TJ and Adams. I don't care he lost 4 players, so did both Tech and ISU and it's much harder for a 1st year coach to achieve success.

Not bad for a guy that was gifted the job because he’s buddies with the AD and doesn’t make any in game adjustments. :jimlad:

Ok I’ll see myself out now
Ya, I'm sure there's a few surprised UNLV fans, going what the ****?

Our final two games before the NCAA tournament we scored 36 points in a home loss then got drilled by 30 in the first round of the Big 12 tourney. The best coaching job in the country was Otz keeping these guys together and believing in themselves entering the NCAAs. That right there is coach of the year worthy
