Down goes Iowa

This is the backbone of the Iowa program. Legacy recruits and kids that are home grown Hawkeye fans.
Well, we know the dumb ones are Iowa fans in this state. They brag about having a higher rejection rate for applicants. When you both have the same entrance standards, it just means you have more dumb people applying.

Dolph was making a big thing about that in the 1st half. Hell if you know the brand they use in the tourney, why not play with it all season long? Personally I would think a few practices would be plenty to get used to it but I'm no hoops star.
The KXNO guys were also talking about the arena seat layout too. Lol

I mean, Fran said it too, but both teams used the same ball....and who knows if Richmond practiced with one before, etc. It's March...and coaches have to prep their teams for the X and Os as well as all the mental stuff that comes with it.

Reminds me of when a football game has a variable (wet field, wind, etc) a coach and staff have to prep/adjust.

Best Twitter excuse from a Hawkeye fans was the reason they shot a miserable 26% from trey was because of the new Wilson Basketballs - not used during the season :)

Also, I will not be surprised at all if CMac and Rebraca (sp?) return. That could give them decent front line optins: PMac, CMac, Rebr, CMurray, Sandfort.

It's almost like they're trying to distract from Iowa being the softest team going.

Who are Iowa's recruits? I know they lose Jobo finally, and would guess Keagan would be gone, so that leaves two scholarships to pass out. I honestly have not heard who they are bringing in. Maybe Boothe will enter the portal and get an offer from Fran? That Ash kid did nothing but look like a dork on the sidelines.

BTW, it's not just Iowa, there are many other teams, but those end of the bench guys for Iowa stand the whole game. It has to be a distraction for teams. I remember in a close game we had (so it obviously wasn't Iowa) and they were doing a long inbounds pass and grill took off at a weird direction for a bit, when I saw the replay you can tell he caught the end of benchers guys basically standing on the inbounds line and looked to possibly be a player until Grill realized it was just a scrubber jumping around.

Guards win tournament games. They have work to do.

This type of report is one of the many reasons it is hard to live in eastern Iowa when it comes to Iowa athletics...the sports "reporters" are fanboys...so annoying:

I didn't watch much of the earlier video posted. But after watching that "report", realized they talked about their worst performance of the year. Seems like they forgot a game...

I do feel like there is something to winning a power 5 conference tournament and then catching a plane to get ready for this tournament. I sometimes wonder if a semi final exit from the conference tournament isn't the worse thing in the world. Got to be some fatigue in there and I think ISU has experienced it in the past also.

regarding next year...will patrick be their best player next year?
Is the history of the big ten conference, only three times has the tourney champ exited the NCAA in the first round. The Hawks are two of those three exits. So, it doesn't seem to impact the conference as much as one might think

I admit I'm not a reservoir of Hawkeye knowledge, but they've won the B1G tournament before?

The Curse of Dr. Tom remains in force.
