Great first Q. Dayton 29-21.

Fun fact: DePaul didn’t bring their pep band … so ours put on Blue Grit t-shirts and is filling in for them.

I was wondering why their free throw chants sounded like they stole from our band, lol. I saw them walking in and about said welcome to Ames, would of felt really stupid after seeing this.

I could see them upsetting Georgia. Not looking like a team I want to face.
I think I just heard the commentators say they only average 5.4 made three's per game, so they are just shooting out of their minds right now, but this is definitely not the norm.

I am cheering for Dayton since Emily Durr is part of the coaching staff.

Bought the tournament program at halftime. Emily Durr is not listed as a coach.

Yes, the Register article/interview described her position as administrative/compliance work. She explained she also does some coaching work also.

She is sitting on the bench and talking to players after they get subbed out and in timeout huddles.

That is something I really appreciate about Jamie. He really treats each sport well. A few years ago when we made the sweet 16(?) in VB up in Minneapolis he didn't cheap out and sent our pep band to make for a better atmosphere. I think he does a pretty good job supporting the Olympic sports.

Dayton won going away 88-57.

What's the attendance like?
ESPN says 436 and the 36 were probably our team & staff. Was nice being able to park wherever I wanted and not having to deal with any traffic though. Hard to believe there are some teams where that is a normal crowd. We are definitely spoiled.

Also, in my opinion, Dayton is underseeded. Should've been in a 7-10 or 8-9 matchup instead.
