Iowa Pork Producers Association says brackets are set and first round of voting is open for this year's Pulled Pork Madness. Voting is by rounds, with the first round open through 10 a.m. this Friday, March 18. Take a look and vote. If you try any of the options, let us know how they are.

Wait, Orange City has legit BBQ? I need someone to please verify this claim for a fellow Fanatic that grew up in the area whose only childhood memory of BBQ was the crappy McRib.

There is nothing wrong with the food at the Smokin Hereford in Storm Lake. Their cheese curds are so good. Really a light batter on them.

short E’s has decent BBQ as well as some good BBQ tacos and wraps. We go there often because it is kind of tucked away so not as busy

Never heard of any of these except Rib Shack to be honest. Sounds like I need to get up to the northern half of the state for some pulled pork.

Slightly OT, but it looks like the BBQ place Curvey and DeAndre Jackson opened (unrvld) is closed. That sucks; their brisket was the best around.

There's some freaking legit BBQ in Cedar Rapids to be settling on a chain.
CR has always had a reputation as a chain restaurant city. It's a rep that was well earned, but it sounds like they're making strides with some better/more unique restaurant options.

Is that on Blair's Ferry? I think that's where I went. Had some pretty good beers on tap, IIRC. Really liked it, but just don't get down there much.
Haha yes sir. It's good stuff. I haven't had any other bbq in CR. I should try Willie Ray's since he does so much humanitarian stuff.
