The USFL unveiled their unis for the upcoming season.

The Philadelphia Stars are using a similar color scheme to ours, and in an interesting turn, are using side panel stripes that look like our basketball jerseys. They do not work on football unis the way they do on basketball jerseys.

Seeing these I think shows that ISU should adopt a gold lid and gold pants as part of the rotation. I am still anti-gold tops. I would also like to see ISU use the white boarder around the numbers on the our home tops.

Those stripes are horrible, but I agree on the numbers and G/W/G.

It would be so easy to make a cool gold helmet, but I guess our coaches are too sold on yet another way to incorporate black into our school colors.

Check out Riddell's new helmet the "Axiom". Facemask/around the face area is funky looking for sure. They claim it is the most technically advanced helmet ever. Does appear some teams could have some issues with their side decals fitting on properly.

You must have missed the IG post a few weeks ago - ISUFB shared some pics from helmet fitting including a silver-ish Axiom with a black facemask & a (if I'm remembering correctly) a card & gold I-State logo - then like an hour later, they deleted it... new helmet? I wish I had gotten a screenshot

For sure a funky helmet - yeah, its getting harder & harder to apply stripes & logos

We'll see about the silver helmet. I just can't see us doing any more than the current 3 helmets. But who knows.

I am pretty sure its the same script from the logo redesign back in 2007. We just haven't used it up to this point.

I don't understand the aversion to cardinal. I get that the gold is pretty loud, and our fans don't really wear it. But the cardinal is a great color, and we should be wearing our school colors primarily.

I'd like those black shirts with the script if the script was the throwback script from the 80s and 90s. I just don't get it. I understand black as an alternate choice, but the transformation into all black all the time just rubs me the wrong way.

I would say they are very similar but not the same...the "s" at the end is definitely different. I can't quite make out the initial "C" and the "y" so it is difficult to say if they are different.

Looks like I was wrong. It has been changed a bit from the 2007 version. All the letters are connected. The s on the end has a tail, and the word is italicized.

The script itself (as a wordmark) isn't trademarked. The word "Cyclones" is.
