*** Official Oklahoma State vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

The officials were awful at a critical point in the game and gave momentum to Okie St. We were not good enough to stop it and it all went downhill after that. You might say it doesn't matter because of point differential, BUT, if you have EVER played a minute of basketball, you know, unless you are a terrific stud, there is more pressure in a close game and shots don't fall as easily. Your ******* is not puckering as much when you take a shot when you are ahead by 10 -12 vs. 2-3. When you are GIVEN an advantage, you can ease up and not press your play as much,. let things come to you and more often than not, good things happen.

The officials GAVE them an advantage and they capitalized on it. Good for them.

BUT DON"T TELL ME THE OFFICALS HAD NOTHUING TO DO WITH THE LOSS. They certainly did and the younger white dude was the biggest problem in that 5 call fuckup he called officiating part way through the second half..

We were also too hyped and emotional and shot like crap comparatively. But we were still tied with them (or within 3 really) midway through the second half before the terrible calls started happening.
Well put. Same reason refs evening out the foul count late in the game doesn’t even up the effects.

I'll give you this....the bad calls (and they were really bad) did happen at the turning point of the game. We'll never know if that would have got us over the hump. As it stands, it all went downhill from there. Bottom line though....is we have to be better on offense. Have to be.

As one already eluded to, the refs (while awful) did not lose the game for us. Our horrendous offense did.

I'm about 100% sure you cannot or should not make a post like this with any seriousness. This was one game. Horrible yes but just one game. How can you sum up the good games that we played this season?

We have played maybe above our heads more often than we should have this year. Tonight it caught up with us. We keep playing like this then I think you have a point.
There may be red flags from this game. They just aren’t any of the same ones that were there under Prohm.

I’m very worried about the future of the program at this point. It’s pretty clear we’re not going to out coach anybody.
Really? We just improved by 18 wins from last year. We have a lot of role players from previous teams playing as starters. When we can start stacking recruiting classes our team will hopefully not have so many inconsistent performances

Pretty sure Malone was the won who called Conditt a POS during a game so it's par for the course.
Check. And people who go so far over the edge just are so irrational. It is hard to listen to their reasoning. It's convoluted. They are also those who are too far in the extreme when things go well. Yo-yo's.

Nope. God, his performance against Baylor really made me think he was gonna be a key contributor and that he could really play. Guess I was wrong.
I rally don't know what to think about Tristan. I LOVE what he CAN bring to the table. It seems he could be a good elbow guy for us, I just don't understand why he doesn't get time (maybe more I don't have the inside knowledge to know why.) HOWEVER, I think he has the talent and athletic ability and hope a switch flips for next year if he sticks. He has the hops, some good moves, nice stroke from midrange (sometimes), he definitely looks smooth in warm-ups. But, there is a reason he is not playing and I hope he can figure it out before he leaves too soon.

Technically this was one game....unless they played a double-header that I didn't know about. But this is not a total outlier. They have set several negative records this year. And the win against TT was the worst win I've ever seen, so I'm tempted to lump that in too.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist regarding who plays what minutes, but I am growing increasingly curious about no Tre and no Tristen....especially in a game like this. Can it be MOSTLY about performance and rotations....sure, but it can't ALL be that when we get blown out at home.

I think it simply boils down to he's not good enough on defense for TJ. Same for Tre, just watching them earlier in the season they seem to be the 2 weakest defenders on the team.
I guess TJ would rather loser 53-36 rather than 73-56.

TJ has done a phenomenal job this year but I'm kind of worried if this is a trend with him, where you don't play at all unless you play elite defense no matter how well you shoot the ball or how good your offensive game is.

We keep scoring on the 30s and 40s and TJ is going to look foolish i not giving minutes to players who can score like Enaruna. I have a feeling this is exactly why Hinson left, even though we could have used an instant offense guy this year.

But when people dared to ask during the 4 game win streak they were told what big morons they were for asking.
