Chris Williams the Time has Come

I’m glad he’s covering the team! It’s great. He did say he wasn’t covering the team though. I don’t appreciate being lied to.
Wait did he say he was covering the team? I missed that

He definitely owes you an apology. Probably will happen right after you admit that T.J. is a damn good coach and the right fit for this program. I’m not going to hold my breath.

First, in your previous post you said “and you wonder why you get grief”. I really don’t wonder though. I play a contrarian on this board and I have an irrational annoyance about how things have been handled. I’m in the minority around here but I’m not the only one. I don’t give a **** if you think I’m an idiot. I don’t care if CW thinks I’m a ******* moron. You both are probably right.

Second, did I ever say that anyone owes my an apology? I don’t give a **** what Chris does. Frankly, I think it’s better for Iowa State if the fan boards are run by people with loyalty to the coaches. I’m glad he and TJ are best friends. I’m thrilled he thinks TJ is Tom Izzo. He knows a hell of a lot more than I do.

But it doesn’t strike you as ironic that after a bunch of idiots call him out, he tells everyone that he doesn’t cover the team? He says hates that TJ got the job because it sucks for him. And then two games later he’s sitting either in the press area for the game (or with high powered public seats) and then is at the ******* press conference asking questions? I don’t care if he covers the team but own it and own the fact that people might give you **** for it.

Lastly, TJ has done a great job this year. I was down after losing those 4 games but the team certainly has rebounded. I’m sure he is the best coach to ever walk into Hilton.

No offense but Fred has disqualified himself
Fred wasn’t the best Cyclone player of all time anyway. We’ve had Conference players of the year in 12 and 10 team leagues. Fred’s senior year there were co POY in an 8 team league. His AA credentials don’t match guys like Tinsley and Fizer to name a couple.

Not the best coach to walk through the doors at Hilton at this point. But exactly the person we needed at this time.

Could very well be!

I had a great time at Hilton last night cheering on the team and TJ like crazy.

Tinsley and Fizer were a step above everyone along with Grayer. I don’t go back any further than mid 1980’s.

I really don't know if we know the full reasoning as to why Chris does and doesn't cover the team. He still does have a job to do and I'm sure his duties fluctuate depending on circumstances that we don't know. He's mentioned numerous times he's trying to be unbiased as possible due to their friendship, but you'll look at his sarcastic / tongue in cheek comment about TJ being the next Izzo way too literally. And Chris said he hated that TJ got the job because it was going to put him into a very tough spot. Do you know why? Because no matter what he does there will be people like you who ***** and moan about EVERYTHING.

Like getting mad Chris is sitting in high powered public seats? Your ability to criticize the smallest things possible is impeccable. Seriously, why do that to yourself and make yourself that miserable? Your last statement really brings everything full circle. You can't help yourself from hating on TJ because he wasn't hired in the way you wanted him to be. Boo hoo.

I’m not criticizing. It’s just annoying that he wasn’t completely truthful. That’s all.

All I meant by the high powered public seating was that it appeared he was sitting in the lower level based on his tweets so he’s either sitting in the press seats or TJ’s seats or a big donor’s seats. I have no idea. Maybe Jared wasn’t at the game last night—although he did write an article.

If I were Chris, I’d say ‘yes, TJ is one of my best friends. No, I can’t be unbiased when covering him. But I run an Iowa State fan site so no one expects me to be unbiased. And JSB can go to hell.’

Like I’ve said repeatedly, I don’t care if he covers basketball. I hope he does. But he can’t have it both ways. And frankly it’s this type of double speak that sets me off—he gets mad when called out and declares it’s unfair because he doesn’t cover the team. But two games later he’s doing exactly that.

Pretty sure Chris has said literally this lol. And again, we don't know why Chris was "covering" the team last night. Instead of throwing a tantrum about it, go at it at a different perspective. You could ask Chris and say, "hey, I was just wondering if there was a reason you might've been covering the team last night?" Then you'll get an answer directly from source. I think that's the way I'd personally go about it if I were you and this was really affecting you.

You know what? You are absolutely right.

I personally think he's too small to thrive with a mid-range game in the NBA. Not betting against him though.
I disagree. NBA is more spread out, lane is wider etc. Sure the opponents on average are bigger and lengthier, but he will also have more room to work.

All that said, I'm not sure he gets drafted or signs as a UDFA. If he ends the season on a tear and ISU makes a decent run in the March tournament on his back, he will get some well deserved attention.

All I know is I don't want to be the person that tells IB he can't do something.

I propose a beer summit podcast, where Chris and the contrarian lady have a beer and discuss her issues with the site. Maybe the board can even propose suggestions for a contrarian lady mail bag.

I will sign on to this!

I think discussion doesn't start until all have consumed at least 3 beers though.
