I was at the game cheering for the team, so that’s why I wasn’t in the game thread.
They did the year we had Shayok, THT, Wigginton, and Haliburton. Another Prohm special.

OK, fair, but nobody could have known that they only had one guy who could score and then made some sort of game plan to slow him down.
Regardless of NET, etc. I have a tough time believing a 6-12 team gets into the NCAA Tournament. The Big 12 isn't that good.
Wednesday is key because WVU is in LAST PLACE and we are playing in Hilton. Losing to WVU would be a bad loss. I won't be comfortable until we win 8 Big12 games. Anything less and Selection Sunday could be nerve wracking for me.
That's a lot to ask from a D1 coach.
Trying to matchup with a team vs. making them match up was always quite the approach.
THE NON-CON COUNTS. Why do people ignore that.

I could’ve done without the reminder that Prohm was a ****** Coach. His shining moments against big 10 teams in the tournament we’re Exhibits A and B.
And yet, every single piece of empirical, objective data states that it actually is pretty damn good.
The Big12 is the best conference this year, but it's not like the Big12 is historically great that a 6-12 or maybe even a 7-11 team is going to make the tournament. Going 13-0 in the non-con gives ISU a leg up, but
Not ignoring it. Just think when you get a bunch of reps for other Conferences in a room, trying to explain that a 6-12 team in conference play (and 19-12 overall) deserves an NCAA Berth is a tough sell. Especially, when these other P5 reps will be pushing their own teams that are .500 or above in conference and 19+ wins.
Also, if ISU finishes 6-12, in the Big12 Tournament we'll play KU, TT or Baylor in the first round.
IMO the Big12 is the best conference this year, but historically we are no better than Big10 or ACC Conferences in prior years. People like to bring up Orr's Cyclone team that went something like 5-9. But that season we finshed 4th or 5th in an 8 team conference.
Take a good look at how 1/2 of the B1G and ACC are doing this season.
It doesn't matter where the Big 12 sits historically.
THIS season, a losing record in the conference can get you in THIS year's tournament.
Why do people seem to hate the prospect of a rag tag group like ISU getting extra basketball?

Oklahoma State is ineligible so we'd move up to #7.
Playing Baylor at #2 is actually pretty attractive, at least to me --
Second time in a row we'd play them.
They're down one of their best players. Probably concentrating on staying healthy going into the NCAA tournament rather than interested in playing another three games in KC.
After that, the bracket opens up. Wouldn't say we'd win it, but that's a favorable draw.
If only there was a committee with pre-established criteria that happens to include a bunch of stuff but NOT conference record or recency.
Lol, what?? It was only 3 years ago now. I'll give you some slack though because that's a game I'd like to block from my mind also.
