ISR March to Madness thread

Iowa’s going to make the tourney with 0 Quad 1 wins and Iowa State is going to miss it with 7.

(I assume Iowa will actually end up with at least 1 from a win they already have or an upcoming one).

We'll see. The bubble is weak this year so this would be the year to do it. Not counting on it. My expectations are back to where they were preseason. So I'll be thrilled if they can sneak into the NIT as they don't currently appear capable of beating anyone.
Regardless of how it ends TJ really turned things around.

On the offensive end you guys really need a 2nd go to guy…teams can concentrate on Brockington.

Don’t go strictly by net rankings…opponents net rankings way heavily with the committee apparently

There just aren’t enough wins on the conference schedule for the Cyclones. It’s sad after going 13-0 against a somewhat decent non-conference slate.

Also, they still need two wins to make the NIT by my estimation.

I appreciate your optimism for us, but anyone who has watched this play out closely knows how the story ends
Maybe so…I have any watched any of your games since cyhawk. Caught a few minutes of the OSU game.

Basically I’m just looking at resume and the clones are still in good shape there…

Memphis beat Houston by 10 which definitely helps the resume

Too bad we can't throw a couple of Q3 and Q4 conference games in there to finish up the year like some teams get . . . . .
Do you trust this team right now to even win those? Look the Big 12 is tough as hell, no question, but let's not act like every team is some juggernaut. There are no off nights in the Big 12, so yeah it would be nice to have a couple of bottom feeders like some other leagues have BUT that all went out the window today when we lose at HOME with a 15-point lead in the 2nd Half to an average at best K State team.

If they finished today off that may have rejuvenated things to get 3-4 more but it may be a slippery slope now.

Agree. We could have Memphis and Creighton get to and remain Q1 wins to bolster us even more. But even though conference record hasn't mattered in the past as they look at your entire resume, I just can't see how they have the balls to select a team that has 5 conference wins or less.

Said it earlier but this may be the year to do it although 5 is really bad.

But like Blum said last week, the committee has to find teams. After like Gonzaga, Auburn and top 2 conference teams everywhere else, seeding will appear random.

I agree with you, that's why I thought so many were completely wrong and overreacting to every single loss. Most truly don't understand bracketology, despite so many on here telling people to use BracketMatrix and follow the highest-rated bracketologists.

So many on here make drastic movements based on each game. I mean, crazy things like when we win we move up an entire seed line or even two. Or a loss and we drop 3+ seed lines or out. People really don't understand how awful the bubble really is every year, especially since they went to 68 teams. It's why this team just has to scrape and find even 3 wins, as I think they get in with 6 conference wins. I truly do.

But I don't see 3 more the rest of the way after losing today. Aside from Okie State, this was the one that should have been as sure a thing as possible. And it was at halftime and even in the 2nd Half after the first couple media timeouts.

At about the 9ish minute mark of the 2nd half I could tell that what happened was about to happen. Told my girlfriend that ISU would lose by 5. Took the dog for a short walk, just in time for OT.

So was off by one point.

I don't like our chances of making it after today, but before todays loss we were still a 7 seed on bracket matrix. Obviously we still need a few more wins to make it and its tough to see that happening right now.
