I am tempted to upgrade to a Pixel 6 from my Pixel 5...mostly out of boredom and I can get a $265 credit for trading in my Pixel 5. Anyone here have a Pixel 6...does it stand out in any way?

I have a Pixel 6. I really like it, but was coming from a Pixel 3. It is a big phone, bigger than I like, but it is fast and battery life is great. Audio is better than my old one, and I like how customizable it is. The camera is highly touted but I just haven't used it a whole lot yet. I haven't had any trouble the first three months I've had it.

Pixel 5 owner here as well. Don't have any insight on the 6, other than I find it very annoying that Google no longer has a flagship option that isn't the size of a small tablet. I personally hate the trend of phones getting continually larger.

I jumped from the 2xl to the 6 and I think if you enjoyed your old ones you like this one. My old phone had battery issues being 4 or 5 years old but I was content with it.

My only beef with Pixel 6 is the in-screen fingerprint sensor seems to be flaky at best. Had no such issues with my prior Pixel 3 (sensor is behind phone).

Besides this, it's been a great smartphone.

I like my Pixel 5...only about 15 months old but I thought with the $265 credit toward a Pixel 6...it might be worth "spoiling" myself this one time. I can be addicted to technology but have done a really good job of not splurging on anything in awhile. If I wait a year...I won't get a credit that would make me feel like making this purchase. I can't decide if I am talking myself into this purchase or talking myself out of it...

I will second that. My son had issues with his fingerprint sensor on his 6, but re-did his and it works better.

The $265 credit gets you not quite halfway to a base Pixel 6 (not including taxes and cell phone carrier fees, of course).

Software support is a bit longer too...

If you have the itch to upgrade now, I'd say go for it.

Yeah...the extra year of updates entered my mind...I am thinking I will probably do it.

We have Google Pixel 2's, trying to decide to go to the 6's or go back to the Iphone's which we had before our Google's.

I'm still rocking my original Pixel XL but I helped my wife upgrade her Pixel 3 to a 6 a few weeks ago. Her new 6 is bigger than my XL. It's a little jarring at first.

She likes it, says it's noticeably faster. Beyond that she's not too technical. It works, which is more than her Pixel 3 did when it up and died one morning.

Pixel 6a is rumored for May or June.

Typing on a Pixel 6 Pro as we speak, thru Verizon. Noticed a few things: first, battery life was good, but there was a massive drain (30-40%!) by the mobile network system app -- even at home when on wifi all day. Others have had the issue too, but I think it varies by carrier. I was able to get it under control (<20%) by disabling 5G and the adaptive connectivity feature. Not sure what's up there, or if it's a hardware problem or fixable software thing. I've seen another big problem where P6s drop calls frequently, but I've never experienced that.

The automated brightness control can be a bit overreactive or weird, but resetting it once in a while it tends to resolve that, if it happens. I know there's issues with the fingerprint reader out there too, but I don't use it and can't speak to them.

Only other thing I did on mine was open up developer features and disable Bluetooth hardware offload. I wasn't personally having any issues, this was more of a preventative step for known BT problems.

Overall, the phone feels great, is super snappy, easy to use and runs great. Plenty of battery (even among the drain issues) -- with battery saver off, I'm at 16% now with 6.5 hours of screentime. 120hz display is awesome. Phone OS is about as bare as they come and simple to set up. The issues above have led to skepticism about the modem parts Google is using in them, though.

I am on Fi. Love Fi! And the reason I am even considering this is that Google will give me $265 for my Pixel 5. I think I am going to dive in now and make the purchase.

Go for it you won't regret it. There isn't a better phone when your on FI then a Pixel. My pixel 6 pro slightly annoys me with the curve screen edges but I've had no problems with the pro. Just a heads up there's quite a few updates to get through as you set up the phone.

I ordered the 6. Instant mix of "can't wait to get it" and regret! LOL! Funny you mention the edges on the Pro...one of the reasons I decided not to go Pro was that. Not sure it is a big deal or not but I never liked the curved edges on phones. Also...one thing I am concerned about is that camera "bar" on the back...it seems so odd that it sticks out so much from the phone? Does that bug you?

I actually didn't like the edges either, coming from a Note with more pronounced edges, but I don't notice them as much on the P6P (Pixels don't have stuff down into the edges like Samsung does. It's more of a cosmetic and maybe gesture control thing, not a dependency). For both the edges and the camera bar, I got a Spigen case that butts up well against the curved edges and also provides a little extra backing to make the camera bar less obstructive. I also found the case to make the phone much easier to handle... it's big, heavy, and slippery without a cas (or at least it was for my little hands). I frequently use the phone 2-handed.

Funny you mention that because I have a 3 and I stopped bothering with the sensor after a year because it rarely works.
