CMC to Michigan?

That dumb Michigan state fan who hangs around here and claims to know the inner workings of both Michigan and Michigan State thinks Campbell would still be at the top of their list.

I still think Harbaugh stays at Michigan.
He's Friendly!

I see there are more **** stains on the wall. I guess that's what happens when none of the **** continuously being thrown around sticks.
When's the paint sale?

You had to didn't you? LOL

I wonder if that weather diagram is real or really happened. So funny if true!

It's photoshopped but still! :D I'll bet John got a good laugh.

But it doesn’t have to be for every damn job that opens

I wish we could go back to just that, jobs that are open. Jobs don't need to even have a vacancy to warrant a thread.

Well if coach Z takes an NFL job, coach Y just might bolt Y for his alma mater Z and big money, so CMC is definitely taking job X. **** he's gone for sure now!

I have about a 0.000000000001% chance of getting laid tonight. I'd put him leaving this year for another college program or the pros less than that. So everyone relax. Now, if I get laid tonight, it's PANIC time for him leaving. I'll check in tomorrow IF that happens.
No game?

I'm so tired of every time a coaching change occurs CMC is brought up, considered or asked will he go? The answer is the same, The answer is the same now as it was for the last 47 coaching searches.

NO

Would Michigan want him?

I'm curious what other candidates would realistically be on their list besides MC.
This. You see I don't know if they do. His whole image as a culture builder is not a Michigan type guy. I would actually see them going after a top flight coordinator, former Michigan player who's out there, or someone with ties to the program.

Secondly I don't think Harbaugh leaves. For who the Bears so he can get his ass kicked by Aaron Rodgers? The Dolphins who have been mismanaged for 30 years? Or the Colts who don't have a quarterback?

What a difference a couple weeks makes. It is now assumed that Harbaugh will be leaving for the NFL as he views it as possibly his last opportunity to go. Good news is that if he leaves Gattis (michigan's OC) is expected to get the nod however others are expected to be interviewed. While cmc is on that list he is lower then several other candidates so even if the announcement of harbaugh leaving comes in the next couple days, I wouldn't be to stressed about it.

Obv not worth starting a new thread so I dug this old one up.

Imagine if our football team went 10-3 this year. Think Campbell would have been high on this list.
I agree with this, also michigan is very concerned about the impact this could have with their highest recruiting class in a very long time. I think CMC could up his recruiting game with Michigan behind him but UM got the full experience of what it is like to play the Georgia without a stacked roster and that is the primary concern moving forward.

First, Michigan has to accept that the only path for them to beating teams like Bama and Georgia is to have a sizable advantage at QB. That's the only way anyone else has ever won. Watson, Lawrence, Winston, Newton, etc. You aren't going to win because you have a better roster. You will win because you're good enough everywhere else and you are significantly better at the most important position.

So then, they have to be happy winning the Big Ten somewhat regularly, making the CFB playoffs when that happens, and generally being a very good program. I have no idea if the fanbase can accept that but it's the reality. Anyway, I think there's a plan for Gattis to be the guy barring unexpected interest. That's what I'd do if I were them as they have, IMO, one of the best staffs in CFB at the moment and breaking that up is a bigger risk than hiring a guy like Gattis who's been around really good coaches for awhile and seen a lot of different ways to run a program. I'd be moderately surprised if Campbell was interviewed.

Also, if somehow UM did hire Campbell, my first call would be to Gattis. I wouldn't have said this a few months ago but everything that comes from inside the UM program screams that he should have a head job and I think he's more responsible for their turnaround than some know. He's just a very positive guy who people like working with and playing for.

How does the Big 10, aside from OSU, routinely have such poor QB talent?

I watch BIG games from time to time and it's routinely painful to watch. Simple overthrown, missing targets. I don't have the stats to back it up, but for being arguably the 2nd most prominent conference, seems surprising the qb play is stuck in the 80s.

I don't disagree with much of this. Michigan feels like it has their star QB in 5 Star QB McCaffery. They can also compete at the skill positions and DL with bama and georgia but their OL and DB's are not close to that level. Most michigan fans would be very happy competing for the big ten regularly since this was their first conference championship since 2003. IF and its a big IF they keep bringing in top ten classes they could make some noise but we will have to see how the coaching changes shift and Michigan is still dragging their feet on transfers and NIL.

Unless it is an immediate announcement that Gattis is the HC then CMC will get interviewed even if it doesn't amount to much.
