Wyoming Dual

I don’t understand why you don’t try & get some riding time when you get top position.

Are they thinking he going to get reversed instead of giving up an escape?
Agree. He could’ve gotten close to riding time if he would’ve stuck out a tough stall ride for a bit. Don’t understand the strategy. Anyone else notice how he flipped sides on the caution? To me that means he’s understanding top wrestling a little more

Plus it would have taken more energy for him to earn the escape. I put that one on the coaches a bit. Yonger is right there

Well here we go! Not a big crowd from the looks of it

Well, they had the PA make an announcement late in the dual that the state DOT said the interstate back to Cheyenne was indeed open, for anyone who had come from that direction.

He gave up a real ugly reversal against Loomer a couple days ago. Didn’t impact that match, but it was because Bastida is clearly better than Loomer. Loomer ain’t Buchanan.
He also got pinned earlier in the year on a reversal when he was comfortably ahead. Coaches are being cautious, in my opinion.

I think that’s probably what they did, but it doesn’t really make sense. Strategically it would have been much better to try to ride for just a bit.

Also, if they’re so cautious on top, why’d they let him ride out 30 seconds at the end of the first?

I don’t know. If guys want to exploit that, they better do it soon. The guy will figure it out. He’s too good and athletic not to. And God help them all when he does.
