Missed goaltending call

I do not understand why they want to protect Kanwas so bad. They literally hand games to them. I am so sick of this. Why even play these games anymore?? What is the point of playing down there anymore?

Yep, and we're not the only victim. KU can pretty much count on a couple games a year where calls sway in their favor and give them a win that could have been a loss.

I think the no time out was the right call. But let's not kid ourselves, if our previous coach had done that he would have been crucified on here for it.

The difference was CSP called time out when ISU would get on a roll during the meat of the game and kill momentum.

ISU last night had a one point lead with less than 15 seconds left at the Phog and no bigs iirc.

Calling time out there is fine...may have been different if KU had like 3 seconds to score to keep them scrambling.

Hope the team can take something from last night, tighten some things up and have a good chance Saturday.

No timeout led to a wide open 3 for Kalschuer, he just missed it. Kid was hot all game so I’m not going to crucify him for it.

Players have awareness or mental toughness under our last coach, so that situation wouldn’t have ever occurred for him to call a timeout. He probably would’ve encouraged Hunter just throw it up on the drive because he didn’t care about spacing or finding the open man.

I'm talking after ISU's last basket. Call time out there maybe to get the D organized, maybe sub accordingly. I know it also gives Self time to put something together but on the other hand KU's players scrambling vs. ISU's players favors KU, and it did.

After KU's basket, yes, let the players make a play as they know where one another are on the court.

Goaltending was missed and cost isu points. I don't think I'm virtuous or something, but I'm not using energy to complain about the refs. I'm tired of doing so.

Not a moral victory, but impressed with the teams resolve and fight down the stretch. They played Winning ball tonight. Sometimes scoreboard reflects that Sometimes it doesn't.

TTU win also shows where we are amongst top half of conference. I'm nothing but pleaded. Keep fighting boys.

Bad calls on both sides. They make that call and win, Kansas is coming up with excuses about the refs too. Stop blaming refs after every loss. I understand the pain but it’s getting old. Refs are human until we start using robots it’s never gonna change.

GTFO with that ****...you can't apply that logic in a case where the call was reviewable. The refs go to the monitors to see if a guy has a hang nail and they don't check on a goaltend? Nope...not buying it.

And that BS call on Jones for a flagrant? He was ******* moving like a normal human...there's NO WAY you can apply the flagrant ruling on that.

Holier than thou fans who are ok with that inconsistency are what's getting old.

You don't get to just throw points up on the board and say "they lost by 1 add 2 for the goaltend, win!"

How do we know it doesn't play out with Jones getting his 5th while sitting on the bench, Otz getting T'd up at the sheer ridiculousness, getting a 2nd T for continuing to argue, a dead ball technical on Kalscheur for handing the ball to the ref too forcefully, and 2 3s hit between all the free throws for a 12 point loss and gamblers either happy as hell or depressed?

It's actually scary how not unrealistic that is in Lawrence.

I hope our refs never read your ideas.

They literally can't review a non-call on the GT.

The RIGHT thing to do was call it, and review it to confirm since the ball hit the ****ing backboard and these are Division 1 refs.

you're correct...and I apologize, that was my point. the flaw is that a replay can be used on a non-call like the jones situation but not on a goaltend. it's BS.

cant deny that we didn't get a good look to win. It was a great look, just didn't go down.

iowa state isn't really in the position they were in if they just come out of the 2nd half and hit some shots.

we competed at the phog and thats a great sign moving forward. this conference is so brutal that national media/selection committee isn't going to punish us at all for a loss like this.

we've proven we are a top 25 team and belong in the top half of the big 12.
