Missed goaltending call

You don't get to just throw points up on the board and say "they lost by 1 add 2 for the goaltend, win!"

How do we know it doesn't play out with Jones getting his 5th while sitting on the bench, Otz getting T'd up at the sheer ridiculousness, getting a 2nd T for continuing to argue, a dead ball technical on Kalscheur for handing the ball to the ref too forcefully, and 2 3s hit between all the free throws for a 12 point loss and gamblers either happy as hell or depressed?

It's actually scary how not unrealistic that is in Lawrence.

Yeah I get it. And although not of any comfort......we didn't have to experience their guard picking up the ball at half court and running in for the game winning layup.

If you watch our entire bench sees it immediately and reacts, and not one ref saw it? Total horse ****

These announcers also claimed George Conditt “isn’t in there to block shots” lol. Let Scotty do all the ISU games please

Announcers said it’s reviewable.
They reviewed it..it was that obvious. I'm watching thinking they're going to count the bucket then play continues.. Where's a red flag!! I figured someone would walk out on the court and stop play or something. Then the announcers..oh ho hum that was missed..oh well

It’s getting lots of national attention tonight on Twitter. If the chatter continues until tomorrow I don’t think the Big 12 will be able to sweep it under the rug. Not that an apology letter changes anything though.

Is it like the carnival where we get to trade three apology letters for a tie and four for a win? I think that cyclone in Jacobson is made with apology letters we have so many.

I do not understand why they want to protect Kanwas so bad. They literally hand games to them. I am so sick of this. Why even play these games anymore?? What is the point of playing down there anymore?

Because the years we take one down there it feels so good.

Yes. Horrible call….But it is not reviewable.

NCAA rule book for instant replays

Article 4: The officials shall not use such available equipment for judgement calls such as:

A: Determine if a foul occurred

B: Determine whether basket interference or goaltending occurred

why is everyone fascinated with a review, it was an obvious call...they Swallowed the whistle, that simple

I didn’t have as much of a reaction to it as I thought I would. It’s happened so many times down there I’m numb to it.

Like I said elsewhere, lots of stuff going on, but at the end of the day, water is wet, play the conditions. Proud of the team for sticking with it the whole way.

It was in response to the OP who claimed the call was reviewable.

I agree it was a bad call; I agree it’s not really a ‘judgement call’. And I agree it’s something that should be reviewable. With all that said, once they ruled it was a block, there wasn’t a way to overturn the call according to the rule book. That was my point

The goaltending is inexcusable because that call is so almost never missed when it’s that blatantly obvious. How does that even happen that not a single one of those dumbass refs blew a whistle?

It’s especially inexplainable when all you have to do is blow a whistle to review it. So even if you think “boy that was close” you can call it and go review. Just an absurdly bad noncall to not only not call it but to think it was not even close enough to warrant calling it and reviewing.
