Texas' Arrogance

This is precisely why Texas sucks. They are constantly looking for the escalator to get to the top of the mountain. Instead of looking inward, solving their culture issues, and making the long hard climb back up to the top, they think they can raid the transfer portal and instantly become a really good team.

Isn't that Matt McConaughey's job? Where is he in all of this?

No one cares, especially if you’re not able to properly embed tweets.
Meh, I care a little bit. I mean, the NIL$$$ + transfer portal IS going to start working for UT probably sooner than we expect... If you're Vaughn, why NOT go get paid in Austin?

Explain your concerns, maybe they're fixable? We aren't very smart about these things, you know. Our specialties are wheat and cattle after all.
Simply copy link to tweet. Board auto-fromats so we're not getting whatever it is that happens when trying to share twitter content.

Why the back-pedaling from Ketchum? It's a new world now. Player pay and free agency are real in CFB, no need to pretend it isn't.

Geoff and UT fans have been pinning their hopes of a turnaround on the transfer portal since it became apparent they made a mistake in hiring an average HC

As though talent was their problem.

It’s also entertaining because a lot of their “issues” with the big 12 are recruiting rankings based. Their self esteem is based on recruiting banners as to why they are this upgrade- yet now they acknowledge that recruiting rankings are **** compared to what a player actually is at this level

Duece seems to be a hardworking guy. Could be a culture changer.

OTOH, a guy willing to jump for $$$ may not be interested in working hard to change a culture.

Texas is going to keep buying Hessian mercenaries and wonder why they don't care enough to give it their all.

Maybe but I don’t think it’s materially different then guys leaving early for money. You can be a blue collar football guy and still be risk averse and want to get paid.

I think it’s more that a program and staff that can’t build their own culture may not know what to look for when trying to buy it.

Texas had a losing record. Finished behind K-State. With the exodus of Texas players to other universities, WHY would Deuce transfer to the Texas Dumpster Fire?

Talent has never been a problem for Texas. Players with an excessive sense of entitlement (and donors with the same mentality) have created their struggles, IMO.

Did Texas even offer him out of high school? I'm too lazy to look but I'll guess no.
It's similar to that nerd Frederick or whatever at Iowa, his home state wants nothing to do with him, 3 years later they are so desperate they are begging him to come home.

I don't watch alot of Texas football but safe to say their running backs aren't the reason they suck so bad.

Like Jordy Nelson, Darren Sproles, Terence Newman, Tyler Lockett, Bill Snyder, and so on?
Yes. All of these people except Snyder would have the ability to jump into the transfer portal and get PAID by UT. I feel like it's not that hard of a concept to grasp but whatever. You've never been one of the intelligent guests here.

Likely true.

But they also have made some very average hires. Charlie Strong is not a good coach. Herman definitely not a guy you hire if culture needs to be improved and you expect elite results. He isn't that level. Yet he is probably better than Sark in nearly every regard except play-calling.

That is where you're right on the donors. They managed to **** up hiring Saban. Maybe they could have never pulled him 10 years ago either way, but Saban isn't messing around with that circle jerk of entitlement.
