A teenager from Johnston, accused of attempted murder, escaped while being transferred to a facility in Waterloo. Sounds like he just got out of the police vehicle when it stopped at an intersection and ran away. Can anyone explain how something like this can happen these days?

Probably the same way it could happen at any other time, someone probably screwed up.

Why does someone have to fired for every fricken mistake they make?
I mean this seems like a pretty large mistake. Seems like the one goal is to not let the violent offender escape. It's not like they bought the wrong staples for the stapler.

What kind of vehicle? Aren't the door handles removed from the back doors on a cruiser?
Not 100%, but based on the news story it sounded like a private company was hired to transport the guy. Maybe it was just initials for the juvenile jail.

Seems to me, if a kid is old enough to use a gun to commit a crime, old enough to do adult time and be in adult jail.
