They were saying that Crennel had a Monday meeting coming up with ownership. Those are never good for a guy's job security.

You also insinuated that Cleveland may be interested in Ferentz. He was simply correctly advising that with Savage out as well, they will not be interested in Ferentz.
I think Ferentz rumors to the NFL will be quiet for a couple of more years, unless his people keep churning the rumors out.

I dont know why anyone making the coin Kirk does would even want to deal with the drama of the NFL....2-3 mil a year goes pretty far around these parts and makes for a nice life
Truly. I mean, think about it......with as much revenue as he brings in to EIU he is underpaid!
That is my thought as well. I've said it before on this board.....there are only two ways KF leaves Iowa: 1. He retires on his own 2. Barta (or whoever the AD is at the time) finally bucks up and pays the huge buyout to get rid of him.
The money is just too good for the mediocre job he has done the past few years.
Kirk is an idiot if he leaves Iowa. They will pay him whatever he wants and in return he turns out 6-7 win seasons sprinkled with an 8-11 win season here and there. In the big 10, 7 wins is enough to play on January 1, most years...which keeps the fans thumping their chests and feeling that their life really isn't as bad as it actually is, so they are happy to keep forking out the money no matter what kind of people KF is actually recruiting to represent their school. As a football coach this SCREAMS dream job.
Why would he leave Iowa? He gets paid very well. His name get floated out there for other jobs and he gets extentions and raises. He will be the coach as long as he wants to be at Iowa. After the year he has had on and off the field there he is Iowa's coach until he retires.
So, ISU should probably pay their coach about 400k then right? a 6 or 7 win season seems like a dream doesnt it?
There was an article written in SI about a month ago that stated the Browns might go after Ferentz if Crennel was fired. You have to keep in mind that it was all speculation on the authors part, and Savage getting canned wasn't seen as a possibility at the time. It's pretty obvious now that the Browns are going to hard after Bill Cowher and Scott Pioli.
