11 wins and don't make the playoffs. Soooooo hurt inside...NOT

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Go Vikings and Dolphins!!

Not bad for losing their MVP though. Cassel is going to cash in during free agency too. If he's not back with the Pats he'll definitely be starting for another team.

I would bet he won't be back because I can't see the Pats paying big money for a back up when they normally never need him.

Unless they franchise him which would be a lot to pay for a stop gap while Brady recovers. Rumor is the 49ers will throw some money his way.

How many more wins do people think the Patriots would have had with Brady? I think 2 tops.

Cassell was great even though he lost tons of players around him. RB's especially. Plus the defense was not half as good as last year

would be funny if Warner moved on and Cassell went to Arizona and Lienart could be his backup....

Word is Brady might need another surgery, so its possible they need cassell next year.

I think it's horrible that a very bad 8-8 team will get in and an 11-5 team will be left at home. And I'm not a Patriots fan.

If you feel that way, then my guess is you support having no divisions and having 16 teams in each league play in one big division.

I actually would support this. I want to see the best teams in the playoffs. I'm a Chiefs fan so I follow the AFC West more than anything and that is an abysmal division that didn't deserve to have any teams get in over the Pats.

:smile:Yesterday was a great sports day. Patriots and Broncos out of the playoffs, Dallas and Denver blown out, Iowa State and Creighton basketball both win. Doesn't get much better than that.

I think the Chargers have the third best shot at making the Super Bowl in the AFC. If they beat the Colts, it's on.

Odds are the Patties are going to either going to franchise him or pay him the big bucks...

ESPN - Report: New England Patriots' Tom Brady behind in recovery from surgery

Hypothetically, what happens if Brady cannot play again next year, and Cassel takes the Pats to a division crown and/or maybe a playoff win or two. Does Brady get his job back? I mean, at what point do you say "Thanks Tom, but we've already got our guy"? Normally you say that you can't lose your job to injury, but two years off is a different story.

It pains me to say it, but personally I think that Belichizik's coaching might have more to do with the success of Patriot QB's, than the talent level of individual player. Put Cassel on a team like Chicago, Minnesota, or Tampa Bay, and I don't think he has the same success. Those aren't bad teams, just not the same situation as New England.
