Kids Helmet / Uniform

Hoping I can get a little help or guidance on where I can find my 8 year old son an Iowa State football uniform with helmet. He asked for one for Christmas and I am striking out. I have searched about everywhere I can think of online and my parents have hit the usual places like Scheels, Bookstore and some other local shops but we cannot find anything. I remember when I was a kid Riddell made a Halloween type costume that consisted of a cheap jersey, pants and helmet. I was Joe Montana for few years at Halloween. I see there are a couple companies still doing it, but Iowa State is not an option. We live in TX, so retail is tough, but if any of you know of a place I can send family or give them a call.

Option two is to just get him a replica helmet and jersey. I also cannot find any wearable replica helmets under $150. He plays flag football with his cousins and they love wearing uniforms when they are out there, helmets especially. Unfortunately, his only option right now is to wear his cousin's extra Hawk helmet. I can't let that happen any longer.

Unfortunately I'm no help with your search, but this was cause for me to recall I had a sweet Randall Cunningham jersey/pant/helmet combo as a kid. Now that you mention it, you don't really see those anymore but I'm surprised you don't as I imagine they would be popular.

Maybe something to do with potential liability on kids using a cheaply made helmet?
 
Doesn't help for a Christmas gift but isn't there normally a used equipment sale every year in the Sukup endzone in the spring? Has anyone gone to this? How would one get their hands on a helmet and how much cheddar are we talking for one of those?

Yeah, every so often they do those sales. They are an absolute **** show. You have to line up really early to get things like helmets or jerseys. I went a few years back to get a helmet and was successful because I showed up before the sun came up that day, but I don't know if I'd do it again. I think it was $150 or $250 or something similar for the helmet. The Equipment guys on twitter would post if/when a sale happens.

Yikes. I wondered if it would be bad but I didn’t know it would be that bad. Thanks for the info.

Franklin makes helmet, jersey, pants combos for kids. They sell them as costumes. I looked at getting my son one last year but they were out of stock. I checked and still out of stock for Iowa State

They do have a few NFL teams and some college teams.
I ended up just buying him a jersey
 
There is always plenty of helmet decals on eBay. Find a helmet and add the decal. They also have some small embroidered patches that could be sewn onto white football pants.
