best X's and O's coach we ever had. Too bad we didn't get to see his coaching with Morgan's recruiting. Damn Nattie Light.

I am down on basketball now, however I hope McD can get it turned around because he is a good guy.

Exactly. LE with WM as his recruiter--I think we have AT LEAST another elite 8 appearance.

McDoormat needs to call timeouts when teams go on 10 point runs against us... Maybe we should ask Tim Floyd who would be a good Coach for us since he got us Larry.

I have to admit something. I could have single handedly saved ISU basketball forever.

I think it was 2003, in IA City, at the MBB game. The game where Clint Varley got some boost of super-kool aid and hustled a victory for ISU. The Hawk fan I went with is still bitter about it.

Anyway, after a post game eat-out at "Sluggers" on the Coralville strip, which i noticed is now closed, we had stopped at a nearby gas station for a fill-up. I was grabbing a "soda" out of the cooler, and sure enough, in walks Larry, black mock turtle neck and all. He grabs a 12 pack of (Natty light?). After a "great game coach" comment, and a couple of hoots and hollers from Larry and a couple other ISU fans, he goes out the door and hops in the passenger seat of his car with a woman driving, who at this time I can only assume was Stacy, his wife. Which made sense, because he always drove to away games.

Little did I know at the time, I could have intervened and said something like "hey coach, why not celebrate with some Mt. Dews" or "Please drink in moderation" or "Fight the Devil, Jesus loves you" or something like that. But no, I laughed with my Hawk friend, joked with others, and unbeknownst to us, that was probably my only opportunity to change ISU basketball forever.

Just thought I would have a little Christmas Eve confession time. I would love to have Larry back. What would be so wrong with giving him a second chance. His time has been served (no pun intended).

He wasn't that great the first time. Does Kent State sit around wishing they could have Stan Heath back?

Those two banners might as well have Jamaal Tinsley's name on them. He did it, not Larry.

So what you're saying is that other teams coaches are the reason their teams win, and it is not the players they recruit and coach?

We have about five games to straighten out this mess. We are still looking for more thasn one person a game to score in double figures.

We did good with LE cause he had awesome players. I'm sorry but Brackins and Lucca aren't exactly Fizer and Tinsley.
