Most Iowa state fans can give you a long list of outright screw jobs against the cyclones. I’m sure somebody on the “refs don’t decide the game” crew can give us a long list of screw jobs that tilted games toward the clones, right? It should all even out if it’s just incompetent refs. We need to get out of the Big 12.

Yes, they should have stopped to measure and review the spot. Terrible job by this crew today. They just were all around terrible. Just bumbling idiots, so the typical CFB officiating crew.
This game was decided by the officials rather than the play on the field. Nothing has ever been more self-evident
ISU defense gave up just short of 500 yards of offense. You putting that all on the officials? L...O... L!

as far as I can tell, the SEC provides a lot more information on their officiating process than the big 12:

if the big 12 follows a similar process, our head coach can communicate with the officials internally tomorrow
I honestly don't know why they don't make this process more transparent / public (film gradings, etc.) -- I think it give people more confidence that the process is working

Bad calls are part of the game- some will go our way, some won’t. When you let a lesser team keep it close at home, bad things will happen. There’s no conspiracy to keep us down. Until we learn to bring it every week, on all 3 sides of the ball, ‘poor officiating’ will keep being a factor.

I am not sure why the refs would rig the game against ISU. What would have been the reason? Did they bet on WVU?
Having said that, the officiating was terrible. Mostly against ISU but the offensive pass interference call was questionable. Had that been called against ISU, I am sure everyone would be ******** and moaning. That was likely a 14 point swing. WVU would have had the ball at our 11, instead we had a pick 6 two plays later.
We lost because we got beat at the line of scrimmage. We had big plays but had no ability to get a consistent push on the line of scrimmage. Brock and Breece were the only reason we stayed close on offense. Our oline was very inconsistent.
The defense was horrible. We typically see this in the first half of every game and then make adjustments. That did not happen today. We rushed 3 all day and let an average QB pick us apart. WVU had close to 500 yards of offense and scored 38 points, all this with 2 turnovers.
Was the officiating horrible and more calls against ISU, yes, but we totally let this one get away against an inferior team. That is on ISU and not the refs.

The refereeing in this one was extremely frustrating/bad. Three massive mistakes by the refs two of which were reviewed and still clearly wrong. Seriously have seen better reffing at the high school level. We didn’t play well but there is no way to overlook how bad the officiating was.
if you had influence or controlled an element of an officiating crew (an influential member), and had the capital to bet a decent amount on games -- and if the officiating policy of the conference is not that transparent and somewhat corrupt -- you could make a lot of money with your stooge official and they could make substantially more than their ~50k/yr salary (I'm pretty sure this is what they make)
just pay them off with cash after you win
if the process in place in the big 12 is similar to the sec and is actually working, it would be difficult to remain being conference official if you made consistently bad calls since ideally when your performance was reviewed, you would be moved down
however there's little to no transparency over this process as far as I can tell

So do you honestly think that is what happened today or was it just pure incompetence?
I think today is probably incompetence -- that was more of a general criticism I have with big 12 officiating (or maybe college officiating in general)
I agree with your points that the main reason we lost was bad defense and spotty line play
