Behind you
Just wrapped up my first mock draft, a little rusty after taking last year off. Still like how things ended up:

QB - Tom Brady ($2)
RB1 - Ezekiel Elliott ($65)
RB2 - Kareem Hunt ($12)
WR1 - Tyreek Hill ($62)
WR2 - Adam Thielen ($14)
TE - Mark Andrews ($14)
FL - Tee Higgins ($7)
DEF - Cleveland ($2)
K - Greg Zuerlein ($2)

BN - RB Javonte Williams ($6)
BN - WR JJ Smith-Schuster ($2)
BN - RB Melvin Gordon ($2)
BN - RB Leonard Fournette ($2)
BN - TE Noah Fant ($7)
BN - QB Baker Mayfield ($1)

I got so lucky last year. Finished the regular season in 8th out of 12 teams with a 6-7 record. Only the top 8 get in. Everyone I played during the playoffs had terrible games. I ended up winning the whole thing. Having David Montgomery for the final few weeks really saved me.

QB - Josh Allen
RB1 - Dalvin Cook
RB2 - Chase Edmonds
WR1 - Mike Evans
WR2 - Tyler Lockett
TE - Rob Gronkowski
FL - Adam Thielen
K - Harrison Butker
DEF - Ravens

Bench: Joe Burrow, AJ Dillon, Latavius Murray, Antonio Brown, Marquise Brown, DaVonta Smith, Austin Hooper, Brandon McManus

Kind of a mixed bag on Thursday. Gronk had a great game, but Evans was underwhelming while Brown did well. One game isn't enough for me to mix that up yet.

Hoping Cook is 100% healthy this year; he's a points machine when he's on.

Am I crazy to consider possibly starting Daniel Jones over Josh Allen this week at QB? Jones is is going against a horrible Atlanta team while Allen has struggled in his first 2 games and goes against a tough Washington defense.

It feels weird that I'm already 2nd guessing Allen, he was the 2nd highest points player in fantasy in our league format last year and I reached a bit for him with an early 3rd round pick after Mahomes went in the 2nd round and he and some other elite QBs would likely start getting picked in the 3rd and 4th rounds had I not taken him. Still pretty happy with my 2-0 team right now though

QB Allen
WR Hopkins
WR Kupp
RB A Jones
RB Swift
TE L Thomas
Flex Sutton
Def Bills
K Butker
Bench: Hollywood Brown, Claypool, James Robinson, Fournette, Jones, and stashed Michael Thomas with my next to last draft pick hoping he could be a potentially big boost the 2nd half of the season.

Have been tempted to dump Fournette for Pollard but I don't trust that he'll be worth anything more than a speculative add being Zeke and with Jerry Jones paying big $ to extend Zeke even if Pollard looks good I don't see him getting enough touches most weeks to trust yet knowing Jerry's history with being a control freak with his team. Fournette at the moment seems to be the preferred back for the Bucs at least. I am kicking myself for not picking up Gronk after week 1 as may have been able to upgrade at TE some. Right now TE and 2nd RB are the 2 areas I could potentially improve at. Urban Meyer has made picking Robinson in the 4th round a questionable decision now so far as thought he would be seeing a bigger workload with a rookie QB.

Daniel Jones just putup 31 fantasy points on that defense.

Glad I stuck with Allen this week. 45.22 points to Jones 16.54.

Question for you all, who has been your best pick of your draft so far? Mine easily has been Cooper Kupp in the 5th round. So far in 3 weeks:

23.80
36.80
30.60

Currently the #2 WR behind the other steal in our league in Cooks taken in the 7th round who is 1st WR so far.

Tom Brady at QB, got him for $11. Has outscored Mahomes weekly who went for $40+.

Lol, I told you. Washington's defense has looked awful so far. Jones shredded their defense so I could imagine what Allen would do.

My best pick was Mike Williams, I got him in the 13th round I think. My worst pick was Allen Robinson in thr 4th, passed up Lamb and Godwin for him.

With Jacobs not activated with the Raiders, I picked up Alexander Mattison from the Vikings with Cook not playing . Cool 29 points that has given me a 52 point advantage with the guy I'm playing having Cooper with the 'boys left to play.

Probably the biggest mistake of my draft was going after Jacobs as my RB2. I think I paid $27 for him. I did get Drake as a handcuff, who's been starting. But was expecting a big season from JJ, still could happen but not looking great.

Now that Jacobs looks to be back, I've got Flex and RB issues. After my draft I loved my starters but hated my bench. As it stands my depth is better than I thought, thanks to a couple RB handcuffs and WRs who are showing up.

So for this week out of these guys, I need to start an RB2 and a FLEX. Any input is appreciated:

Josh Jacobs RB (LV) @Denver, projected points: 11.76
Damien Williams RB (Chi) vs.Green Bay, projected points: 13.03
Darrel Williams RB (KC) @Was, projected points: 13.46
Michael Pittman Jr. WR (Ind) vs.Houston, projected points: 15.56
Emmanuel Sanders WR (Buf) @Tennessee, projected points: 12.85

I don't usually put much stock in the projected points but included for reference.

So we're halfway through the NFL season, how are your teams looking these days? Who were your best draft picks or free agent pickups and who have been busts for you so far?

I'm 3rd in a 10 team PPR league at 7-2 and was in a 3 way tie for 1st up until I lost to 1 of those 2 teams last week when I had all but 1 player score below their projected points for the week. Actually both my losses are to the 2 teams tied for 1st and they came on weeks my team put up a collective clunker after having high points for the week 4 times already.

Best draft picks:
Cooper Kupp in the 5th round
D Swift 6th
Fournette 12th

Worst draft picks:
D Hopkins in the 2nd round. Wow has he been a huge disappointment so far
A Jones in the 1st. This is not terrible but when we are in a league where you keep 1 player and you have the 3rd pick after Cook and Henry went off the board it was between him and Johnathan Taylor at that point since there weren't any better choices with other possibilities were held as keepers. I chose not to keep Henry which early on looked like a big mistake but now that he is hurt for the year it worked out OK.

Best pick ups:
TE D Schultz. Not a sexy choice but had Logan Thomas go down and he's turned out to be a consistent TE so far.
Hollywood Brown. Haven't actually had him in the lineup much but he's coming in handy now with Hopkins banged up.
D Montgomery. Just picked him up in the past week after he's been on the waiver wire while hurt. I had been stashing Michael Thomas so had a spot to grab him and worse case I'd rather have him scoring points on my bench and not for another team down the stretch.

My current roster:
QB: Allen, Tannehill
RB: Jones, Swift, J Robinson, Fournette, Montgomery, M Carter
WR: Kupp, Hopkins, M Brown, Sutton
TE: Schultz
Def: Bills
K: Butker

We start 2 WR 2 RB and 1 Flex spot

I like my chances when everyone is healthy and firing on all cylinders as I have blown out some teams this year when that happens but have had 2 or 3 absolutely bad weeks as they all seem to have a bad week at the same time. Carter and Tannehill are my 2 easy drops if I need to pick someone up but for now I don't mind stashing to keep some of these guys off other team's rosters.
