66" Vertical

that is simply a 66" box jump... a vertical jump is when you reach your hand out as high as you can, then jump and touch as high as you can and measue the difference.

Randy moss had over a 50" and so did michael jordan

David Thompson only had a 46 inch. I have never heard of anyone over 50 inch. Please link. Signed, Doubting Thomas.

That said, his vertical is probably still well over 40", which is still freakish.
Is vertical might be 40, but well over. Come on get real. If you have a 40 in. vertical you are a freak. Only a few people can say they have 40 and a couple can say they have "well over" 40.

I would be surprised if Moss'e true, standing vertical was even 40. And if Mikes was 50, he would have been dunking from the 3 point line, not the free throw line.

"Well over" was used relatively in that sentence of course. But thank you for keeping me in check :notworthy:

Hardly any of these vertical leaps are accurate is the problem. The NBA doesn't hold an official record for any of this like the NFL, at least not one that they archive officially. Some hacks have sites where they guess, apparently -but nothing pre "combine" era is real accurate...

That may be true, but I do remember the numbers on Jordan and Webb from like 15 years ago, so I don't know if they are accurate, but the numbers were around for a while.
