Wait a minute. Did I miss something? Your QB just played awful right? Not ours. Playing offense with a lead is entirely different than playing from 3 scores behind right? Clones have a really good defense, I don’t think anybody doubts that. Our offense did very little against a great defense while playing with a lead. If we don’t do anything on O this week then I’ll actually be worried.
And yes, our punter is incredible and that’s a big deal imo.

Well you would be correct that defense DID play a decent size role. If Hankins just lets Hutchinson go by that play probably goes the distance. Hankins was beat and he did what he had to do. We can all rub our hands on how a flag should have been thrown......and it should, but flag of no flag......Hankins did his job and prevented a huge play. A penalty is preferable to a huge play. That's defense. And this isn't a knock on Hankins because I am sure since college PI isn't the same as the NFL......they are schooled (like everyone else) to do just that if they are beat in the route. He did his job.

Pretty common knowledge he was waiting for an Iowa offer that never came. Iowa held off Georgia for Deuce (remember the helicopter?). Deuce committed early and Iowa wasn't going to bring in another QB in the class. We'll see how it plays out.
It’s funny to think that a non conference game against Iowa State is what propelled Iowa into the playoff conversation. Have to think the Big 10 is regretting their decision to water down their conference with bad programs like Rutgers and Maryland. Very few marquee match ups any more. Maybe Penn State will turn out to be legit but I don’t see anyone else on Iowa’s schedule who could be a statement win.
I really don't think that is such a big deal. Opposing fans are going to show up for a rivalry game so retailers know they are going to be able to sell product, especially tailgating perishables. We had a couple of hawk fan friends show up with their hawk cookies. I of course had to make sure that one hawk girl saw me take a bite out of one of her hawk cookies. She thought it was great that a Cyclone was eating her hawk cookies. That is until she saw me put it back on her serving plate and proceed to take a bite out of each one and put them back on her serving plate.
By the way, the black and gold really did taste like dirt and urine.

Maryland 30 West Virginia 24. If Maryland and Rutgers are the bottom of our conference you better take a look at yours. A game @ Maryland would likely be the 2nd toughest game left on your schedule assuming Oklahoma turns out to be legit.

I think Big Ten may only get 2-3 of those and that might be generous. The non conference schedule is up there with any league though. Some teams do have watered down conference schedules yes but with so many teams in conferences now it's more than a Big Ten issue. I don't know if you've seen Clemsons schedule but it's very lackluster
Lol a game at unranked Maryland is not a marquee match up. No one is buying that except Iowa fans. Maryland hasn’t had a winning season since 2014. Point is Iowa has a huge disadvantage because of their soft schedule. Iowa needs to roll teams from here on out to have a shot at the playoff.
