Anyone catch the Metcalf and Parker interviews that dropped last week? Parker looks huge. He talks about his upcoming decision about going 141 or 149. He really looks bulked up. Wondering if there has been any chatter about where he intends to go this season?

Going back down to 141 looks like it would be a significant cut. As far as the lineup, that would be a significant logjam at 149 and at face value a void at 141.

Had not heard he was considering going 149. I would be pretty surprised if he's not at 141 this year.

He talks pretty openly in the interview that he's seriously considering going 149. Metcalf also mentioned about Degen being stronger...'can actually see some muscles and veins, a bit of definition' in him. No inside info, but I would have to suspect if Parker decides to go 149 that Degen and Carr both bump up.

No idea who would go 141 in that scenario. Ramazan maybe? Knopick as a true freshman? Would make the Gomez transfer sting a bit more.

Any chance Degen could go down to 141? I know he is tall & thin so not much weight to spare on that body type.

The only reason I mention it is I had the opportunity to visit with Degen at a CRTC fundraiser. He told me during the season he can eat whatever he wants and is still a couple pounds under weight.

I think Degen's funk could lose some of it's effectiveness at 57. Those kids will be taller and able to defend some of that stuff a little easier. He's a gamer though.

He looked the part of a 149 pounder. I was surprised how much muscle he put on over the summer. Maybe that’s how he’s done it every year. Idk.

I think Metcalfs comments about getting the best version of Parker in March may have something to do with his cut. Again, just speculation.

I was just curious if those that get to attend some of the wrestling events/fundraisers had heard anything about him.

I would guess Ramazan would be 133 and Redding 141 if this happens. Redding was not a great weight manager last year, and is probably better suited for 141.

Does anyone know if Todd Small is wrestling this year? On his twitter he lists himself as ISU assistant wrestling coach, but should have a year left if he wanted it because of COVID. He'd fill in adequately at 141 if Parker was bumping and Redding stayed down.

Knopick is a 125 and possibly 133 later in his career. He has a smaller build and wrestled all season at 126. He wrestled 55k (121) this spring at Last Change Qualifier. Hopefully Terukina can stay out of trouble or CK could see time right away at 125 which isn’t ideal.

If Parker goes up I’d assume Attasouv is 133 and Redding 141.

Good info. I was just going off the Flo commitment list that has him listed as 141. Interesting considering he was ranked in the 126 final rankings. You're right though and I think 141 could be good for Redding.
