7-5 and going to a bowl game is a decent success. Would we take it? Of course we would. Plus his record has improved over the last five years. That's what you want to see.

Just because in today's environment you can get a bowl game for going 1 game over .500 doesn't mean I define that as success.

Look at his overall body of work, not impressive.

I REALLY hope this isn't the guy.

while not the greatest record at Arizona, he has head coaching experience. I think that is the number one requirement. Besides, at the risk of sounding like the typical cyclone, would we even have a chance at him if he was getting 9 or 10 win seasons?

Here are his seasons at Arizona. Slowing improving every year.

2004 Arizona 3–8 2–6 T–8th
2005 Arizona 3–8 2–6 8th
2006 Arizona 6–6 4–5 T–5th
2007 Arizona 5–7 4–5 6th
2008 Arizona 7–5 5–4 5th

Arizona: 23–33 16–25

The only reason he has any interest is because he is on the hot seat... A move now gets him another few years... Sounds very Chizik like...

Looking at the history on Wikipedia, it said this at one point...
In December 2008 Stoops accepted the Head Coaching position at Iowa State University joining his brother Bob as Big 12 Conference Head Coaches. Stoops agreed to a five year deal to coach the Cyclones. Is a big fan of CycloneFanatic.com.
:biglaugh:

A version also said he spent the last three weeks on a gay cruise the Bahamas.

Here' the truth. Mac had more success at ISU than Stoops has had at Arizona and we fired him (which I agreed with). If this guys last name was Smith he wouldn't even be mentioned.

What was Mac's record over his first five seasons? Which year did he take the team to his first bowl?
