Best place to buy a new refrigerator

Too bad you can't buy a brand new 1975 model.... it would last you a LONG time.

Check ads, websites, and call around. Maybe check your local guys as well. Inventory is very, very lean atm.
Like my FIL says, they make things just good enough to sell now, not to last. Totally different than the past.
I bought a stove at Warners Stellian in Rochestor, MN earlier this year. They were the only place that had the stove I wanted in stock within a reasonable distance (I live in north Iowa). Called ahead to make sure they had the stove, told them when I would be in to buy it, and was in and out in about 15-20 minutes. Helped load it up and strap it in. If I need appliances in the future, that will likely be the first place I check.
If companies build things to last, they can't sell you a new one when the first one breaks. They know this.
While this is true, I would still go to a local appliance dealer.
Remember the old SNL skit with Akroyd and Gilda Radner about the refrigerator being replaced? "Bye Norge." Now you barely get to know their name.
Got my 2001 Kitchen Aid repaired a couple years ago but while waiting for the service dropped into Stellian in Bloomington in case I needed to buy new. Pretty knowledgeable peeps. Then stopped at Home Depot and the guy knew less about refrigerators than I did. I at least knew Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid had been the same company for decades and that WP also owned Amana and Maytag. Kitchen Aid has been part of WP for so long I think of them as their Toyota and Lexus. If I have to new again I'll probably go Stellian here. Back in 2001 I got all new kitchen applaince from Sears. Back than that was still a good option, they had a better price going and still had that big repair service. Now, that repair service might not be that big a deal, lots of companies here doing service here although warrant service for some brands is not good. Plus some brands being hard to get parts for and being unreliable POS.

Werner Stelian if you want the higer end service. There’s a place in Ankeny and West Des Moines/Clive.
We got our Whirlpool from the Restore. It was like 800 bucks off and no sales tax because they’re a nonprofit. Came with the factory warranty too.

My Viking appliances are going on 15 years. I also think they have a lot of life left. So that’s not necessarily true.
We got out appliances last year when we moved into our new place at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Really its just where you want to go, what you have available in your location, and what you want for appliances. Then who has the best deal and inventory. It always depends on how much you want to shop and how particular you are on brand and features, on how much you have to shop around.
After checking out suggested on here, we ended up buying a refrigerator from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The price was very reasonable, and we can it delivered the fastest. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
Local mom/ pop outfit that will deliver and service the products they sell. Only housewives w/o a discerning eye for reliability will spend $2500 on a Samsung appliance. I went with Kitchen Aid/Maytag in the kitchen and Speed Queen in the laundry because because of reliability and better service.
