Jon Miller has a new write up on realignment...surprising and worth the read.

I'm somewhat curious with the number of atheltic programs we offer, if that could be potentially an issue. If I'm counting correctly, we offer 16 different programs between men and women. The school with the lowest number in the Big 10 is Northwestern with 18. Would they ask that we add programs? And if so, would we be receptive to the idea? It's hard to imagine the Big 10 bringing in a school that will instantly become the school with the least amount of programs offered. Just a thought I'd had for a week or so now.
We have 18. Two track seasons.

Tell me about this tier-system! I'm fascinated and need details! Is S better than C? I'm so confused.

I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with typical grading system A-F where A is best, C is average/below average, and F is worst. In games, “waifu” ranking systems, and other such things, S/multiple S rankings are above A, or “top tier”.

In full disclosure, I have not paid any attention to him since he had that TV show with the Michigan guy that was supposed to be the Iowa State guy. Just shocked to read his name and "worth the read" in the same sentence.

Jon Miller has kind of done a 180 as a human over the last decade, and this kind of seals it. He was gleeful about ISU getting relegated in 2010.

Go listen to the podcast he did with Williams last year. Guy has really grown and it’s hard to not admire that.

He talked about it a few years back but his hawk media personality was basically an alter ego he would take on just to rile people up.

Is A better than Z? Makes a difference. I'm always a numbers person, unsure if an A is hot or a Z. I'm thinking an A is hotter. If Z is hotter, I'd probably laugh at her and forget about her the best I could.

I assumed it was like Mercedes car classes. C would be the lower class, S is top of the line.

Ok here is what I"m not getting...ACC contract is horrid thru 2036.. Everyone says if they can add a team they get to redo the horrible contract. If that is the case then why haven't they added WV like yesterday?

I'd think if there is a clause in the GOR that allows the ACC to change its current deal by adding teams that they would be adding teams then..
Maybe they want to see first what kind of money B1G and PAC get so they have a realistic starting point for negotiation with espn (so espn doesn't screw them over).

So if this happens.........do we go from being mad at UT and OU to sending them a thank you card? It could be a situation where we are dumped at a bar by a semi attractive beatch of a woman, but get sympathy from the smoking hot model who has decided to take a guy home that night.

Iowa State and Kansas would basically be Harry and Lloyd when the Hawaiian Tropic tour bus pulls up looking for a couple of oil boys.

UUUHHHHHHH.......they told them to take somebody else; but did run after them at the end. Can't remember if they finally did get on or not.

From a "classic" (outdated? Wrong?) view a full stadium adds to the university

By that I mean the energy generated on game day is a tremendous marketing moment for a university. ISU games in '94 when you could take a nap didn't reflect well on the university.

It's a wrong thought that an empty stadium is a sign of a school lacking experiences for students or reflects the quality of the school....

But the new era of packed houses and top shelf game day experience makes ISU seem like a destination. People know Iowa State when I talk to them. A halo effect

Iowa States attendance track record is going to be very valuable in all of this. Don't listen to the tavern hoks when they say that attendance doesn't matter and that BTN already has the Iowa footprint. Eyeballs and subscriptions matter and not every game is a home game. When the Cyclones play on the road you can bet your a$$ we are all tuning in and watching via multiple platforms. It absolutely matters and those eyeballs turn into subscriptions. If the B1G would strategically put Iowa State and Iowa in different time slots you are absolutely increasing viewership and that is huge.

Well hopefully we at least know which direction the nearest town is the first time so we don't have to flag them down and confuse them.

They give them directions to the nearest town to find oil boys. The bus takes off, then they apparently realize their mistake, chase down the bus. Then they tell them they made a mistake, and the town is actually in the other direction.

Thanks, now I remember. So we don't know if they actually get on, although in Dand D 2 I think they talk about the tour so I think that means they did finally jump on. I am far from positive though.
