IOWA STATE TO BIG TEN?!? Dave Wannstedt thinks so.

HR has a wonderful thread on this topic. They honestly believe that all the presidents care only about athletics.

Typical of non important teams thinking they matter.

But they, and the rest of the unimportant 11 should be really frightened if that is what they think.

If we go big ten, expect us to buy all tickets that can be sold to us by the home team stadiums will be full!! More money for the conference.

Sadly, I doubt Wannstedt knows what he is talking about unfortunately. Look at what he said the PAC would take OSU & KSU? Why wouldn't the PAC take TT before anything to try and get their network in Texas especially when FOX has no Texas product? I would be happy to be wrong but I don't see it, with Iowa already in the B1G.

I still think its most likely the remaining 8 need to add 4 schools but if ESPN wants to place everyone so UT & OU can move next year and avoid exit fees and lawsuits its possible everyone gets placed and it really would be better for CFB.

But I think the B1G has the least incentive to add teams. IF USC and some PAC friends doesn't make sense financially I highly doubt they add KU & ISU.

If ESPN is trying to place everyone, I could see where ESPN sends TCU & Baylor to the ACC and TT & OSU to the PAC(maybe even Houston gets added). Then if the PAC turned their network over to ESPN or FOX each league gets carriage for their network in Texas to pay for part of the move. IF KU & ISU are going to another league add KSU & Houston to the PAC schools.

If ESPN needed to place two more teams say KU & ISU, I could see where it could be more likely in the SEC than the B1G. For the SEC its two academic adds, two new states, it ties in Missouri and OU and SEC got the kings ransom in content with OU & UT already and could stand to add two more teams to get this all done.

Does anyone have any stats on B1G teams and selling out their stadiums? Which teams are not consistently selling out their stadiums?

It's entirely possible that this, and the recent hints about no PAC 12 expansion, represent differing views in ongoing negotiations. Maybe some of the PAC 12 schools are balking a bit at the idea, and this is Fox's way of saying that this needs to happen to get the deal done?

Fox holds the cards. If the Pac says no, then they will probably get low balled on the next round of TV contracts and they will be in a much worse position. The Pac needs something else to boost the value of their content and the status quo doesn't do it.

Thank you. I was waiting for a reply from a hawk fan to tell us that all the other media reports about Iowa state going to the Mac are correct, but this one is wrong.

Can you tell us what your well places sources in the athletic department at Iowa are telling you? Or do you actually have big 10 contacts.

Seriously, **** right off.

If we go B1G - what current business/bar on Welch can be turned into the Brothers Bar and Grill?

This news is the equivalent of “locker room talk” in my opinion. KSU over Tech for the PAC12? Just not buying it. The bigger story of the day is the Iowa vs ISU also going away with time due to alliance scheduling. ISU and the Big 12 just keeps taking punch after punch. Hiring of Oliver Luck reiterates the remaining option for the remaining 8 schools: expansion.

And here you are, just to let us all know again how truly heartbroken you will be when Iowa state goes to the Mac.

The Iowa Nebraska rivalry is so phony. Just because you neighbor each other doesn't make it a rivalry. Nebraska fans love to show off how much they "hate" Iowa. Almost as much as they "hate" winning seasons

It’s what the hoks do. Anything they touch for a millisecond is “historic” and a “tradition”.
