Out of the tops that I have seen I am jumping into the Pat Hill pool, the guy just has some edgyness to him as a coach that I think ISU fans would love. I have the Poopes family, so I am not down with Mike Poopes even being considered.... Big name but that is all in my book. I would also be happy if we could pull the Tulsa duo, although I think that they would be more of a risk to bail.....

Sorry I think Mike Stoops would be a bad idea, what has he gotten done at Arizona, the Pac 10 is horrible this year and they are only 7-5, out of our candiates who seems to achieve less with more, seems to recruit decent out there but gets .500 record every year. Not something I look forward to, plus Ames is a harder sell that UofA.....

Just curious, why would Pat Hill come here? It seems like a sidegrade to me

Side grade to the best conference in College Football, he is the coach that preaches any team, anywhere. I think we need this mentality to be successful in the Big 12.... Plus I think he can sell that to our current players which would give him a good starting point.

I'd love Pat Hill. I like his attitude and at 55 he might look at ISU as a place to be until he retires. My only concern would be recruiting to the midwest as he has been recruiting to Cali for the last 11 years.

Honestly most years I'd give the best conf. edge to the SEC, the north honestly drags down the Big 12 a bit. I fail to see why'd he'd leave Fresno State where he has coached for 12 years. If he wanted to move to a major conference I'd think he'd do so earlier or at an opportunity in which things were more established.

I am not saying that he will, just through what I have read about for our top 4 making the most noise I would rather have him.... I don't really see Midwest Recruiting being a problem, if you look at his recruiting the past 3 years we have had better classes then them. I think if he picks Assistant that know the area that will help out a lot(ex. Rodgers, Koonz)

I haveloved the "anybody, anytime, anywhere" mentality for years. It seems to me like something that would speak to the competitive nature of a player, especially that 2-3 star kid that has the talent (or close to it) of the other guys, but got overlooked, and has that chip on his shoulder with something to prove.

I love that his players apparently graduate and take school seriously.

He sounds like a good hire. I trust Jamie all the way, whichever way he goes.

I think Pat Hill is an excellent coach but he has benefitted from Fresno State letting a lot of academically questionable kids into school. I have wondered if that is why he has not gotten a Pac 10 job in the past. His teams do play physical football on both sides of the ball and he will plays a tough non conference schedule. If he can recruit within ISU's guidelines he would be a great choice.

Pat Hill is not coming to ISU. He's a friend of mine and Fresno was his dream job back when he coached for the Ravens. He went to school and played football there. Would be an awesome get though. He's one of the funniest guys you'll ever meet.

i don't think its far off to think he would come here...The Fresno State havent been to happy with him lately. Recruiting is my only concern.

Pat Hill is 57, would be a great hire.

Mike Stoops would also be a great hire.

I think Pollard has someone in mind we haven't considered.
