We are always looking for ambitious, intelligent, and competitive sales types. Small company, unique industry, sort of a cross between commodities trading and auto parts junkyard. Cedar Rapids area. PM me.

If you are looking for a job that is very structured, where you just do what you are told, and it's all just processing, this is not for you.

I keep getting headhunters that want me to move to Philadelphia or Vancouver, BC.

Oddly specific it is those two.

Maybe that will change in a remote work for those of us who drive a mouse and keyboard for living.

If anybody comes across the 120k/year job with flexible scheduling and little responsibility, I may just leave the self employed world for it. I’m calling dibs just in case anyhow. Oh, I can’t move so I need to work in NC Iowa. I could but wife would divorce me and I can’t afford that.

Briefly, the position is a mechanical installation planner to be responsible for co-ordinating the overall installations of major projects. You will be responsible for working with the internal project, supply chain and engineering teams to estimate the feasibility of installations and how the company can offer the most effective service to the customer. You will also be responsible for having detailed conversations with the customers to understand the exact requirements of each project. The overall aim of the installation planner is to create installations on time and on budget. This would be a new position for the North American entity and would service 4 different business units across the US. Travel is likely to be 30% as required.

The most suited individual will need a background in mechanical installations and have mechanical estimating experience. Ideally, you will have some customer facing engineering experience and understand how to interact with customers and other teams within the company.

Would this be of interest and would you be open to a phone conversation to discuss further? I will be able to provide a full job description and the company name during the call.

I look forward to your thoughts and hopefully connecting with you soon.

Kind Regards,

Louis

Honestly, if you're a good software developer this is pretty easy to find right now. Even the part about "little responsibility". You don't even have to be a team lead. Work from home, wherever home is. Flexible scheduling for sure - work whatever hours you want outside of meetings.

Back in 2000 I was trained in C+ or C++ when I went back for MIS. Was a class from an Associates degree for programming. NOW you tell me I should have kept up on it.
