One Hawkeye will not be on the field at the beginning of this season due to an incident that happened on his family's farm.
Not a real farm injury which would be a compound fracture or mangled limbs. 
Seriously, sort of a bummer for the guy, hate to see peeps hurt even in not that serious freak accidents.

Kirk will make him play Sept 11th, broken bone or not
He'll return against ISU, play out of his mind, and sustain a reinjury that keeps him out the rest of the season. Book it.
Personally know him. He is a great guy! Even though he is a Hawkeye. I wish him the best in his recovery. He has a great opportunity to play on Sundays, after starting as a walk on.
....and Brandon Scherff, who got turnstyled all game long because he couldn't move.
Definitely out the first conference game which is weeks away. Hopeful for the following week though!
