If they have ANY idea at all. JP is the only one who knows what's going on...he isn't going to tell anyone because he doesn't like leaks.
No boosters, no media, no nothing. Anyone reporting that they know something should be the first sign that they don't. EVERYTHING is a rumor at this point.
EXACTLY. Only Jamie knows. He has proven before he can keep things pretty darn quiet.
I wish it were true, but find it very hard to believe after this statement from TG.

I seem to remember another coach, fairly close to our school who said similar things. That and president Clinton....
It will probably go down like last time when everyone was having a party that Brian Kelly was hired, and then JP pulled the old switcharoo.
I agree with the fact that Jamie will not let out what he is planning on doing, especially to the local media. That was made evident when he wouldn't give a list of candidates at the presser.
But do you think he maybe talking to some of the larger boosters about who he is considering? We all seem to agree that this hire will play a big roll in his future here (Long term, not his future tomorrow). I would think he may at least throw some names at the guys who write the big checks.

And Chizik told Pollard he wasn't taking the Auburn job. I'm not saying we will get Gill, but don't take anything as truth until we hear a final report on the matter from Pollard.
I'm kind of hoping it isn't Gill though. I'd hate to see happen to those kids at Buffalo what just happen to our kids. And if he did come, I will be questioning his loyalty for a long time.
If JP is looking for a Hot name though, I'd say Gill is definitely the hottest right now.
I wanted Gill badly, but I agree with the idea that he wont shaft his current players. He has built something in Buffalo and probably wants to sustain it for a awhile now. I know he interviewed and such, but I think he feels he owes it to his guys to stick around a little longer.

Gill's word trumphs Chizik's word. He is staying at Buffalo. If there were no press conference to announce this and it was strictly a case of he has told those close to him he is staying at Buffalo, the case might be different. I believe Gill knew exactly this thus holding the press conference.
Would we honestly want him if he did? Integrity is not exactly something that college coaches are known for these days.
That is exactly why we don't want him. Do we want a guy to come in and bail after 2 years? It's bad enough if a guy bolts after year 2 if he is winning but we just had a POS defensive coordinator ( I mean head coach, wait... I mean DC pretending to be a HC) that burned us after winning 5 games in 2 years. Sometimes the "hot" coach isn't the best route to go.
I like the intelligence on how everybody on this CF site strategize on the possible "What If's" !!! :notworthy:
