ND is in a separate category then every other school, they have great academics, tradition and a national following. The same cannot be said about OU at least from the academics side of it.The Big Ten has attempted multiple times to add Notre Dame as a full time member and ND is not an AAU member.
Why does all the G5 schools like Houston, the Florida schools, Cincinnati and others want to get into a P5 conference. They are winning and having success currently, why leave? Because its all about the money, without OU and UT the dollars the networks will pay go from 35 million a year per school to 10 million a year. Without that money its hard to keep coaches salaries going up, expanding and updating facilities and the rest of it.
If it was only about winning, teams like Vanderbilt would have left the SEC a long time ago, it not about winning its about the money you get that you hope you can use to get into a position to win.
In a word no! In the upcoming realignment it's all about 'Location Location Location' and middle of the country, middle of a low population state isn't going to cut it.
What incentive would UGA, Florida , and Bama have to vote yes? Why would any of those schools want to potentially make their path any harder?

I've been in a business conference all week and this is my first post since the news so sorry for being late to the party...but...do we provide the Pac with enough value to join them? Wouldn't they like to be playing games in the central time zone? Perhaps ISU, KU, Tech, oSu?
This f*cking blows, gang. This is some old timey Iowa State sh*t.
I don't understand why anyone from the league that is already head and shoulders above everyone else financially would touch Texas with a ten foot pole. They will bring nothing but drama and will expect special treatment.
To eventually completely make their own NFL minor league. What incentive would UGA, Florida , and Bama have to vote yes? Why would any of those schools want to potentially make their path any harder?
Explains why those of us who are alot bigger basketball fans than football aren't taking this near as hard.
To be Captain Obvious
A $25 - $30 million cut to our athletic budget is Armageddon
Maybe even in ways that don't seem all that obvious on the surface
O yes, I shouldn't have named your lust object. Apologies.Tom Osborne doesn't have time to be on here. He's too busy laughing.
Because you are a lot bigger basketball fans.
Someone in the CF shop needs to make a shirt that says “traitors” with the Texas and OU logos
You hate Tom because he didn't want to bend over for Texas? Look where that's gotten Jamie and the rest.O yes, I shouldn't have named your lust object. Apologies.
By the way, what a great guy. He really went out of his way to help the other teams trapped in the Big 12. When he couldn't get unfair and uneven revenue division and keep other schools under his boot he ran.
I honestly don’t see why Mizzou, TAM, Kentucky, SC, UT, Vanderbilt would want Texas and Oklahoma.Did Arkansas just become the fourth NO?![]()
No, I hate Tom because he is a despicable human being. He supported unfair practices in the Big 8 and then Big 12, including uneven revenue division. He obstructed justice when his risky players engaged in criminal acts. But that's clearly behavior you admire. His actions made it more difficult for other teams to stand up to Texas. You hate Tom because he didn't want to bend over for Texas? Look where that's gotten Jamie and the rest.
