Report: OU & Texas reach out to join SEC

George finishing the books is less likely than the Big 12 staying together at this point.
Sad, but true, I'm afraid. CMC can write the final books, much like a new writer finished the Wheel of Time series.

Jon Snow embraces the Process, within his walls, becoming the best version of himself, perfecting his craft, and becomes an elite warrior who is transformational. ;)

Why would OU and Texas move and hurt themselves then? They aren’t getting past Alabama, and the second tier of that conference (Georgia, Florida, etc) are just as good as OU and Texas are. All this does is hurt their chances to make the playoff. But I guess the money outweighs that
TX is a distant 5th in that group.

Why in the world would the AZ schools come to the big 12 without OU and TX?

i dont think they would unless they know something iffy with the pac 12 is coming.

i think for the big 12 to stay around they will need to bring in other P5 schools. they need to go out and grab nebby back, maybe colorado, and look west.

Jfc, some of you guys are drama queens. We either get picked up by the Big 10 or the Big 12 still exists. You are right and it isn't viable long term then we get picked up by a Power 4 conference 8-10 years from now.

I've seen 55,000 people show up to JTS against teams like Kansas and Western Illinois when we were horrible with Paul Rhodes. So yeah, probably have to tear down the whole eastern side of the stadium just because we can't host Oklahoma once every 24 months.

Someone tell me what we bring the Big 10 needs? Can we bring enough to make the other 14 schools make more money? Does Ohio State or Michigan say "man I would really like to have Iowa State in the conference." I don't see how that is possible. I am not being negative about it. It's just not realistic to think the Big 10 is an option.

People have said that we are in a good position because we have a lot of fans and eyeballs willing to stream games, but do we know this is true? We have a passionate fan base yes, and I think people are assuming passion is equivalent to large numbers for subscriptions, but have we actually compared our numbers to other schools? Does this data even exist in a form that is meaningful to the future of the delivery model? I'm not sure we have as big of an advantage here as we think.

I think someone can extrapolate filling up JTS, game ratings, social media metrics, and maybe add in donations or something out for those projections. Does that really matter here? I don’t know.

Wouldn't we be the only team in the conference without a baseball team too? Pitt would be a better pick for the Big 10 than ISU would.

Jesus, the B1G is a terrible baseball conference. I can assure you that the only thing that matters is football and maybe basketball to a certain degree.

Don't you think the rest of the fanbases in the B1G can get behind doing something guaranteed to piss off the HOK fans? ;)

Texas sucks, Oklahoma in football is a huge loss though. Both of them have pathetic followings basketball.

Pac-12 and Big 10 are pipe dreams. The only hope is 4 SEC teams veto it. After that you get Houston and BYU on the phone, let Cambpell dominate that conference in football and enjoy the best basketball conference in the country.

Yeah... thats not going to pay the bills.

What's even weirder about this, these schools are rivals? It's like they coordinated this with each other. Can you imagine iowa doing something like this with us?

Why would they leave? Chances of Nebby leaving for an unstable Big 12 is zero. Chances of Colorado leaving for an unstable Big 12 is also zero.
